Camry vs Corolla

  • Re: Camry vs Corolla [martince]

    Written by: frank0238 on Jul 2, 2011 8:32:52 PM

Corolla is more sporty, better pick up speed, you can take exits at faster speed than camry, its steering wheel is lighter especially compared to Camry 20011 which i rented and drove few days back. I sold my camry 1999 but would say without any doubt it is lighter to drive especially its steering wheel as compared to new 2011 camry. I rented for two weeks toyota corolla 2011 and for ... Have only driven 400 or so miles in the past 2 weeks ... Planning a road trip on July 1st... cant wait.

You didn't say if the noise is from the front or rear brakes or both. I would speak to the service manager. Usually noise can be a result of dirty parts, vibration, or even cheap parts. Providing all parts are clean an upgrade to better quality pads/shoes and a thorough inspection of involved parts should quiet your brakes. Of course this assumes nothing mechanical or defective is involved. I bought a ... Read More

  • Difference in USA vs Japanese made Toyotas?

Written by: lhy on Mar 8, 2009 6:56:39 AM

Is there a significant difference in quality between a Toyota that was assembled in Japan vs one that is assembled in the USA? I am in the market for a used Toyota and am choosing between two Corollas--a 1994 model made in Japan and the other a 1996 made in the USA. Should this be a factor in my decision in which one to choose?

I just noticed today that the 1996 and 1997 Corollas have different door panel designs. What is up with that? Why would Toyota have changed it in that model's last year of production? The 1996 has a padded area just below the window and has more cloth. The 1997 model is more like the 1998-02 generation door panel design.

If Toyota does what it has done in the past, then you can expect the Japanese/European corolla being carried over to the U.S. That's what Toyota did for the current Corolla, they introduced it in 1998 when it has been out since 1996 in Japan.
