  • Toyota Theft Deterent System - Help!

    Written by: ashleyb67 on Oct 20, 2009 11:14:15 AM

I am the original owner of a 2005 Celica with a Toyota Theft Deterent System (Toyota added it at the port; the remote key fob says "TDS" on it and has three buttons - one red, one black, and one green). I am having a problem using the black unlock button on the key fob. I press it, but it doesn't unlock my car. The red button will still lock and ... Read More

I own girlfriend also owns a gts celica. I had to replace the clutch plate at the same time that pattio did. The output shaft assembly, 4 bearings, and 1st and 6th gear also were just replaced at 37,000 miles. I am trying to get in touch with other 2002-2005 gts celica owners to see if they have been experiencing the same problems. My e-mail is imablond87@sbcglobal.net

They are making 2005 Celicas but I'm sure the number is small so they will be hard to find. A dealer should be willing to do a dealer trade to get one if they want to sell you a car. Go to another dealer if that one won't work with you. If you really want a Toyota, you might want to look into the Scion TC, which is more or less ... Read More

My 91 GT has 185,500 on it. I expect to see 200,000 on it sometime in late spring. I haven't driven a new tC, but I have seen several. Rear seat room looks nice, but at a cost to the hatchback area. I have heard that the blind spot is awful (but so is my car). It's amazing that Toyota is going to kill the Celica, but you can have a ... Read More

Toyota Celica and MR2 to be cancelled after 2005 model year. http://pressroom.toyota.com/photo_library/display_release.html?id- =20040716 This saddens me deeply, and gives me yet another reason to dislike Scion...

I hear there will be more power but will the price go too high? I have seen some GTS with 27-28 prices.Once you get around that price you approach cars such as the Mazda RX-8 250hp around $28k,Nissan 350zx 287hp starting around $27.5 and the infiniti G35 280 hp around $29k. Not that i believe the build quality of these with the exception of the G35 is as good as the ... Read More

  • Next Gen. Celica

Not to belabor the point, but am I the only one here who has heard that the next generation Celica will be coming out as a 2004 model? I have read somewhere that Toyota planned to restyle the Celica after 4 years (rather than the usual 5) so that it's styling can stay fresh in this competitive segment. Can anyone else confirm this? Anyway, whether Toyota decides to change the Celica ... Read More
