Tremendous Ride

Review

Had this car for 2 weeks. Nothing but fun. Bluetooth phone feature makes speaking on the phone safe while driving! GPS system gets me to unfamiliar addresses without getting lost; often right on the dime. Car looks, rides and handle great!!!

Favorite Features

Bluetooth capable, GPS, steering wheel controls.

Suggested Improvements

They should include the XM satellite radio receiver as an option rather than an accessory. Forgot to include this. Will cost more to have dealer install after purchase.

Review

Did two test drives. Took delivery only 3 days ago. Didn't think I would trade my 2001 Mustang convertible for anything other than a mustang GT, but I did. Solara convertible is great compared to mustang GT if you don't mind 90 hp less and better than the Pontiac G6 which gives 0 trunk space with top down. Solara has just about everything including a gps option and automatic/clutchless manual shifting (very fun). Watch the backing with the boot on - you lose almost all rear view visibility with the high boot unless you are very tall and put the seat in a high position. Have already reported this safety problem to Toyota. Would not have been a deal breaker, but maybe better discount.

Favorite Features

Transmission, gps system with verbal commands, steering wheel controls, style, ride, all up/down window button, accel to 100 in no time/comfortably, great dash & dash lights, great leather, stereo can compete with the kids without modif. Computer controlled ac/heat, auto dim rear/driver side mirrors

Suggested Improvements

Redesign convertible top boot!! Add change drawer. Include XM receiver in gps system option rather than just having a compatible radio! Now the receiver must be installed as an accessory not an option - don't forget this if you want XM or Sirius radio.

Review

I have had this car for 3 weeks, put a little over 3000 miles on her. She's a dream. Did lots of research before purchasing this car. Glad 'Lara was my final pick. Haven't seen any other on the road yet. Get lots of praise about her appearance.

Review

I was in the market for a hybrid car. Toyota Camry seemed a good choice, but with long waiting list and more importantly poor acceleration, I changed my mind. As soon as I saw the 2007 Solara, I knew that I wanted this car. It is very stylish, powerful and comes with features that anyone would love. It is a very fun to drive car and you don't see too many of these cars around either. The price is certainly better than the other competitors. I love this car.

Navigation system, dash design, ease and speed of lowering the roof,

Suggested Improvements

Rear visibility can be improved, sound system is good, but not as good as Acura TL and mind you this was the only advantage to TL, otherwise Solara is much better car.

Quality and reliablity: After four days of owning my car and going on a 2 hour trip, one way, I noticed the carpet soaking wet on the driver's side. The service dept. kept asking me if I drove over any huge puddles or if it rained on the car. I replied, "No." They concluded there was a gap in the material used on the fender where water leaked into the car. I replied the only water that was put on the car was when they washed it the day I bought it. Performance: Smooth and quiet ride great pick-up but jerks when I accelerate after applying the brakes when slowing down to turn a corner. Design: I'm not crazy about the side view of the car -too sloped toward the back end.

Favorite Features

Lots of storage compartments, 6 disc CD player, stereo controls on steering wheel, compass, rear view mirror changes from day/night view automatically, well lit dashboard, cargo net in trunk, seat comfort and leg room in back seat, steering wheel can be moved in and out for arm comfort

Suggested Improvements

Fix the gap before selling the car. Back window is hard to see out of. Armrest for the back seat.

First rate vehicle. Fun to drive, easy to care for. Quite quiet for a convertible. A little difficult to get out of the back seat. Rear visibilty could be better. Overall a great car.

Review

Although I just purchased this car yesterday, I already know it is a much improved version of the 2004 model that I traded in. The ride is tighter, smoother and not jarring as it was in my 2004. This may sound trivial, but my 2004 had a "weird" smell in it since the day I bought it. This new one actually smells like a new car!

Dashboard layout, audio system, ride

Suggested Improvements

Bring back cassette to radio and add a change drawer like the Camry has.
