Toyota Solara Convertible - 2004 and Newer
Re: Hesitation problem
I have a 2006 Solara 6 cyl. and there is a problem with the car hesitating. My example is: When your in a parking lot and coming up to a speed bump, you have your foot on the gas and then take your foot off the gas (slowing down a little)to go over the speed bump, you then put your foot back on the gas to accelerate - THE CAR HESITATES! It almost seems like the car is in neutral ... Read More...
Solara News
An individual who states he works on the Camry/Solara lines has heard that the Solara coupe will be discontinued in August 2007, however the convertible will continue until September 2008. Don't know if Toyota will badge the last remaining Solaras built as 2008 models; I think they will just keep calling them 2007 unitl they cease building the hardtops. I have ... Read More...

2006 4-cylinder engine change?
I just noticed that the 4-cylinder Solara's (2005 1/2?) now have a 5-speed automatic transmission instead of 4-speed (see Toyota's web site, and I've seen them on the lot). Does anybody know if the "official" 2006 4-cylinder Solara (coming out in the fall) horsepower will be increased to that of the 4-cylinder Camry? Right now the Solara is 157 HP and the Camry ...
