Re: What's the difference [scottshiv]
Re 2006 vs 2005 SLE-V6 differences, according to yahoo.autos.com: Minor upgrades accompany the Toyota Camry Solara into the 2006 model year. All Camry Solaras have power lumbar support for the driver this year, and convertibles get new "donut-style" rear headrests that improve visibility whether the top is raised or lowered. Solara SLE models receive new ... Read More...

2006 4-cylinder engine change?
I just noticed that the 4-cylinder Solara's (2005 1/2?) now have a 5-speed automatic transmission instead of 4-speed (see Toyota's web site, and I've seen them on the lot). Does anybody know if the "official" 2006 4-cylinder Solara (coming out in the fall) horsepower will be increased to that of the 4-cylinder Camry? Right now the Solara is 157 HP and the Camry ... Did I get a good deal?
I just bought a 2005 Toyota Camry Solara SE convertible with the sz convenience package (upgraded radio and driver's seat) and cf option (floor mats) and paid 26,500. I am now wondering if this was a good price and what people have paid for this model. Read More...

Re: 2005 Solara SE Sport 4cyl Auto Problems? [curlyq]
I have a 2005 SE Camry 4cyl Auto. No hesitation problems at all. No left pull either. Car has 16" wheels with Disk all around and I have notice on slight hills with the cruise on say 70 the car likes to down shift into 4th (5 sp auto trans) and sometime 3rd to hold the speed. Seems a bit agressive. Car has a tight holding for speed and doesn't like to go too slow. Anyone else ... Read More...

2005 Camry Solara Convertible SLE (Rudy 331)
I picked up my car on January 26th. It took 12 weeks from my date of order. My wife and I love it! Of course, there are some minor items that Toyota could improve upon, but overall it appears to be a great car for the money. It drives smooth and very quiet for a convertible and is certainly an all weather vehicle. My wife likes the heated seats. I had a Chrysler Lebaron and ... Read More...

Horsepower increase on 2006 Solara 4-cylinder?
I just noticed that the 2005 Camry 4-cylinder is now 160 hp, up from 157. Odd thing is, I think the 2005 Solara is still at 157. Does anyone know whether the 2006 Solara will increase to 160 hp? I've called the Toyota help line and they don't know - neither do the dealers. Thanks in advance. Read More...

Re: Interesting 2005 data [tyresmoker]
Agreed again. To think that I was looking at both the Prius and the MINI Cooper, both at right around $27k. For $5k more it seems like a steal! I just can't wait until 8/20!!! I did go onto the Toyota/Lexus tech site and looked at all of the changes for the 2005 Camry. It looks like they've changed the Nav a bit, but I can't find anything else. Hopefully this will run through ... Read More...
