Toyota Camry Hybrid MPG-Real World Numbers

re: Toyota Camry Hybrid poor gas mileage.

jgallant said: I have had my 2009 TCH for about 6 weeks and have been tracking the gas consumption carefully. The web site (Canadian) says I should get 50 MPG city, combined and highway driving. After 6800 KM (4225 Miles) I am getting only 40 MPG. I know that the info on the web site is an "estimate" but it shouldn't be 20% out. I don't drive with a heavy foot, in fact I ... Read More...

Toyota Camry Hybrid Tire/Wheel Questions

Re: replacement tires for 2009 Camery Hybrid [mirspot]

Well, I have a 2009 Toyota Camry Hybrid, took it in for the 30,000 mile service today and was informed that the tires were down to 3/32 and need to be replaced. The mileage was at about 30,018 (had the car just over 18 months). The tires were the Bridgestone and I ended up replacing them with Yokohama's that were about $110.00 each. I didn't pay too much attention to ... Read More...

Toyota Camry Hybrid Engine Problems

2009 Camry hybrid engine failure

Our 2009 Camry Hybrid with 90,000 miles (it's a taxi) completely froze up while driving on the freeway. We had it towed in and the mechanic at Toyota quickly said it was due to "poor maintenance" despite the fact that we regularly had the oil changed and any other routine repair. There were metal shavings in the engine and we're going to have to replace it at great ... Read More...

2010 Camry Hybrid Availability

Are the US regions other than Washington getting any 2010 Camry Hybrid? I haven't seen any 2010 Camry Hybrid in our area (at dealers or their web sites) even though they were supposed to be at the dealers 6 months back. Still see only the 2009 models. Even the Toyota web site does not allow me to build the 2010 Camry Hybrid! (I had posted this question earlier at another ... Read More...

Re: 2009 camry hybrid Premium Package w/Navi ??? [jrsdriver]

I agree. The last car I had with quality velour seats was the 1987 Cressida. Those seats were AWESOME and PLUSH and GORGEOUS !!! Toyota offering them as an option today would be a slam dunk for a lot of people. Read More...

Hybrid with automatic remote start

Remote Start on 2009 Camry Hybrid

I have a remote start on my 2009 Camry Hybrid. I ordered the car equipped with it from the dealer. It works great! No problem with the fob. The RS is integrated in the fob. I also have proximity door locks, so, when I approach the car with the fob, not only do the doors open but the car turns itself off. Then, I have to start it again with the Start button. I would prefer it ... Read More...

Strong Gas Odor Coming From 2009 TCH

Gas cap problems

I had the same problem on my 2009 Toyota Camry Hybrid. The gas cap didn't tighten correctly, and I got that strong gasoline smell and the Check Engine light went on and stayed on. I took it to the dealer and they turned off the CE light, tightened the gas cap and promised to order me a new gas cap. It hasn't arrived yet but I have had no more problems with the old one.
