Toyota Camry Rattles

Camry engine rattle

My toyota Camry 2006 engine vibrates and rattles. A tinny sound. I can hear it as soon as I turn it on and it is audible until highspeeds mask the sound. Under the hood it is visibly shaking. Any idea as to cause? Engine mounts? Intake manifold? Read More...

2007 Toyota Camry Issues Been Solved Yet?

Re: 2007 Toyota Camry Issues Been Solved Yet? [mcdawgg]

I ended up checking on Consumer Reports on reliability, and Consumer Reports 2006 Toyota Camry was the best reliability overall, and the 2007 is downgraded to a "better than average" rating. The brakes, rattle, and minor transmission issues for the 4 cylinder are "average" I didn't even bother looking at the V6 engine as it was listed as only "average" overall. ... Read More...

Toyota Camry Security System, Remote Start and Keyless Entry Questions

Keyless Entry Stopped Working

I have a 2006 Toyota Camry XLE. I bought it in December 2005. Recently I noticed that the keyless entry fobs have not been working as well and when used I would get more than 1 beep from the car when it used to be just one. I changed the batteries in both and they were both working sporadically and now they are not working at all. I changed the batteries again but no change. ... Read More...

Re: Toyota 2006 Sienna seat belt [richard3265]

You are not alone. I had this problem today with my 2009 Toyota Camry. The belt is locked in the retractor. The dealership told me it was 300 dollars to replace it. I told them to just "fix it" not replace it. They told me there was no fixing it, it has to be removed and replaced with a brand new one. They told me it was not a defect, and that the seatbelt spool had been designed ... Read More...

2007 Toyota Camry Transmission Questions

Toyota Transmission T-SB-0033-08

I have a 2006 toyota that just hit 100,000. And then the transmission started acting up. I'm posting this because this particular TBS has been amended to include all 4 cylinder Camrys from 2006 to now include 2008 and 2009 with the auto transmission if your vin # falls into this range. What my car does is exactly as the TBS says. Warmed up. Once your've gone above 45mph ... Read More...

2010 Toyota Camry

Re: 2010 Camry-Vacuum Fluorescent Display lights adjustable (dimmer)? [pixshooter]

The display does not, and has never, bothered me at night, fog, rain, sleet, snow, etc. over the past 3 years. You can only judge this for yourself, but consider this: if it was a big problem for most people, Toyota would have changed it by now (over 3 years since this generation has been out). For the vast majority, it's fine, but you'll have to decide for yourself. ... Read More...

Toyota Camry Road and Wind Noise

2010 Toyota Wind Noise /Air Turbulence

I'm still looking for people who have experienced wind turbulence on their 2006 -2010 Camry's. My encouragement is to write letters and send emails to Toyota Corp. urging them to look harder at the problem and hopefully create a retrofit to reduce or fix the turbulence issue. It is designed in and no amount of adjustments or new rubber molding is going to fix it. ... Read More...

Midsize Sedans 2.0

Re: A few new sneak peak pics of the '11 Sonata [m6user]

I own a Camry Hybrid, and here's a derision, its ugly. The front end is ugly, the ride is soft, and it handles like a rowboat. Quality in materials is far less than I would have expected from a Toyota, especially the upper end of the line car. I recently test drove both the Fusion Hybrid and the Sport, and if it wasn't for the higher cost of the Fusion Hybrid, I would gladly ... Read More...

2007 Toyota Camry Problems and Repairs

Re: My 2007 Camry XLE [djm2]

I guess we're just polar opposites! I recommend (and practice) avoiding the dealer entirely except for warranty work. I do all the routine maintenance myself except for jobs above my skill level, patience, or lack of suitable tools or equipment, in which case I pay a reputable independent shop to do it (not the Quickie Lubes or tire or department store chains). ...
