I have a 1998 Toyota Camry with about 160,000 miles. My timing belt broke. I called many repair shops - all say that if the timing belt broke, that the engine could be damaged - the valves, or heads (not sure). Drove car about 60 miles, no trouble. Parked at home, then tried to go in town, went not even 2 miles and car just stopped. Told by mechanic that it ... Read More
My nephew has a 2006 Camry with a 6 cylinder engine. The car has about 40,000 miles. The engine light had come on, and the cause was determined to be the catalytic converter. Yesterday, our local Toyota dealership replaced the catalytic converter under warranty at no cost. The diagnosis was that the catalytic converter was inoperable. My curiosity is why would the catalytic converter fail at 40,000 miles? Is it inherent ... Read More

I totally agree with you here. Toyota interiors could use a lot of improvement. When current Camry generation came up for sale back in 2006 Toyota knew that they were only game in town and their real competition was only Honda Accord so they allowed themselves to cut corners. I bought my 07 Camry XLE in Oct 2006. From the very 1st oil change something was wrong. Shy of 1,000 miles for oil change when making turns the dash would flash a msg which read "Low Oil Pressure". I informed the DCH Tech about the flash message. Nothing was done. Each time the car was due for an oil change I made mention of the message flash on the dash ... Read More
I currently have a 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid that I bought in late September 2006, just in time for the full ($2,600) Federal tax credit. It is a great car. In the summer I average about 37-38mpg and in the winter about 32mpg. It is incredibly quiet and roomy although, like all Toyotas, I would not exactly call it sporty. The problem is, after nearly three years and 50,000 miles, I ... Read More
I have a 2006 camry with 71000 miles. That is exacty what I took my car in for. It started abruptly a few days after routine maintenance. Brought it in-it is a blown head gasket. Dealer says it's an engine defect. Fortunately I bought the extended warranty (expires in 4000 miles) and it's covered. You might have to fight Toyota on it.
Yea man. that is a total rip off. I have a 2006 Toyota Camry Le V6 bought on July 2006 brand new. I do alot of driving. As today 01/05/2009 my camry is 128,000 miles. I never had to do a fuel injector flush or a steering fluid flush. The only thing I did to my car was change brake pads, spark plugs, tune up, . other than that change oil ... Read More

Oil change problems I gave my car procedure with only a wrench. His experience will differ slightly. He will need those other tools, in the previous post you gave. My filter wrench is a heavy steel with a spring loaded fingers that open to size of filter then grab on as you turn it to the left. The normal extensions and a rachet are needed though to use it. Its 3/8 ... Read More

I have a 2005 toyota camry with approx. 80k miles on it. Today, while driving on the highway, the TRAC OFF, VSC and CEL's all went on simultaneously. Some background info on the vehicle. It was in an front-end/driver-side collision back in 2006, but was 100% fully repaired according to the body shop. In August 08, another body shop changed my front brake pads and "sanded the disc", and I changed ... Read More
by the way i bought this car in NJ. i am sure, i got ripped off for not being prepared on this. I have been using a Garmin which keeps falling from wind shield every 20,30 min. asme problem reported by friends with all most all GPS units. So i preferred an inbuilt authentic GPS by toyota itself. i did not mind paying that 1500 extra as i have plans to ... Read More
If you'll notice I didn't say my Accord was the 08 model; it is a 2006 with 166hp. I don't care for the new Accord or Camry either one, actually. I'd like to drive a new Mazda 6, and take another look at the Altima, if I had to replace my Accord. Per Motor Trend Accord LX-SE 5AT 2006 0-60 - 8.1s Camry LE 5AT 2007 0-60 - 8.7s
Is it my imagination or did Toyota "hone down" the bulbous front end of the Camry since the newest generation was introduced in 2006?
dec426, Why did you want a refund instead of a replacement? See my deal is, I traded in an 2006 Mustang for this Camry so I am upside down on it. Do you know how that would factor in on the refund? I need you to help me get all my ducks in a row so that I can win this case...I would like them to give me a Camry that ... Read More
