I was fortunate to find a six month old Camry LE (private owner) with 9k on it in 2005. Today (3 Nov 09) I have 61k on it and it has been a great vehicle. I did have the steering intermediate shaft lubricated (Service Bulletin T-SB-0296-08) and it stopped the clunking noise during slow speed turning and it seems to handle a lot better (psychological). I guess we're just polar opposites! I recommend (and practice) avoiding the dealer entirely except for warranty work. I do all the routine maintenance myself except for jobs above my skill level, patience, or lack of suitable tools or equipment, in which case I pay a reputable independent shop to do it (not the Quickie Lubes or tire or department store chains). ... As another follow-up to AU74 post . . . Just yesterday (Saturday) I bought the Red Camry at the Chambersburg Fitzgerald dealership that he mentioned. I paid the Internet price of $19,288. Purchased 2010 Camry XLE V6 two weeks ago. Car has all options including nav, heated seats, push button start and mats. I paid $ 29,040.50 for the Camry with no trade. MSRP was $ 32,665 We took 3.9% financing for 60 months through Toyota as no rebate was offered. This is our 3rd Camry (2005 LE & 2007 LE) but our first V6. I had the previous gen Camry V6. ... Even with premium though, I don't think it quite meets the Lexus specs. However, I never got better than 27 or so on the Interstate at 70-75. In town it got 16-17. I have the 3.3L V6 in my 2005 SE. Last summer I got 28.5 mpg on a 2600 mile trip by watching my speed. I have a 2006 camry with 71000 miles. That is exacty what I took my car in for. It started abruptly a few days after routine maintenance. Brought it in-it is a blown head gasket. Dealer says it's an engine defect. Fortunately I bought the extended warranty (expires in 4000 miles) and it's covered. You might have to fight Toyota on it. Read More...
