I will never buy Toyota Again! My camry has only 36,743 miles and drive belt came loose! I was in middle of the road and lost power steering then battery light came on. A day before I heard loud tapping noise coming from the drive-belt area, then it became totally loose today and the noise was even louder. I don't know first hand. But it's very suspicious when the "Car of the Year" soon becomes the "Dud of the Year." Addressing three of your 'Scarlet Letter' issues. Just to put them in perspective ( I'll even throw in some more for your enjoyment ) 'sludging' - this was a serious problem and handled poorly by Toyota whether it was their fault of not. I have a 2005 toyota avalon limited and am considering a 2007 camry. The comments about the new 07 woes is causing me to reconsider. The 2005 avalon is basicly unchanged in 06 and 07. corolla is slow as as hell.It wont take hour of abuse.the beauty of vtech is you can abuse it every day and it still go to half million mile without breaking. The Corolla has VVt-i, which is Toyota speak for Variable Valve Timing, too. sicom007 - My experience is similar to yours. Recently, I sold a 2005 Accord EX V6 and orded a 2007 Camry SE V6. After driving the Camry for a bit, I found it much rougher riding than my old Accord and much louder, especially on the highway. My Toyota dealer was terrific and let me try an XLE.
