Toyota Camry Windshield Defect?

Re: Camry LE 2005: back windshiled broken to piece because of the winter storm [richardren]

The glass is safety glass, which breaks into the very small pieces you reference, as opposed to long sharp edges that normal window pane glass would break into. Unfortunately, you really have no idea why the window broke, and would be probably hard pressed to prove a case w/Toyota. If they saw a number of these break, or folks on the board here started reporting ... Read More...

Camry LE 2005: back windshiled broken to piece because of the winter storm

I am in Austin, TX. I have a 2005 Camry LE 4D Sedan. Last week, we had a severe winter storm down here for around 4 days. My car was covered with ice all around for around 3 days before I cleaned up the ice with a piece of plastic scraper and the built-in heater in back windshield last Wednesday. Then I used the car for two day's daily commute and weekend shopping without ... Read More...

Re: 2005 Camry SE 4 cyl with Loud Tapping noise & Drive-Belt Problem [mike323]

Sorry to hear of your difficulty, but a loose or failed serpentine belt is not uncommon with any automobile. There are two types of similar victims out there (any make or model); those that have had that same problem; and those who are going to have it someday. Given the mileage being so close to the cutoff limit, I would expect that it should be corrected under warranty. ... Read More...

2005 Camry SE 4 cyl with Loud Tapping noise & Drive-Belt Problem

I will never buy Toyota Again! My camry has only 36,743 miles and drive belt came loose! I was in middle of the road and lost power steering then battery light came on. A day before I heard loud tapping noise coming from the drive-belt area, then it became totally loose today and the noise was even louder. Since factory warranty is up to 36,000 miles, I don't how much ... Read More...

Re: yeah [andre1969]

I'm partial to blue myself, especially light to medium blue. Lighter greens and blue-greens are nice too. That light blue Camry color came out in 2005; in 2002-2004, Toyota offered a nice medium blue metallic, which I have on my 2004: See more Car Pictures at CarSpace.com Read More...

New Problems with 2007 Toyota Camry

I traded my 2005 Camry in on a beautiful 2007 Toyota Camry in August of 2006. I loved this car until the transmission started lurching slipping gears, going into neutral etc. at about 500 miles. I took it to the dealer and they acted like I was crazy when I explained the problems. They said nothing was wrong. Then I called the Toyota Corporation and they opened a case ... Read More...

Re: ESC Video [kdshapiro]

Thanks, kdshapiro, I thought that was a really interesting video. A few notes. For touting the many advantages of Subaru products, the organization would do well to extend VDC to the entire line of Legacy/OB products. In Consumer Reports test of the 2.5GT-L, they noted a tendency for excessive tailwag (oversteer) in advoidance manuvers. I can attest to this ... Read More...

kdshapiro wrote: "My guess would be if one examines a number or CamCords, the fit and finish would be beyond reproach." This is certainly what one would expect, but not what I've observed in critically inspecting a number of Camrys, both the 2005 and 2006 model years, and the new generation 2007. In fact, several car mags have pointed out the flaws in the fit and ... Read More...

Re: It's Motor Trend's Car of the Year [drjames]

I don't know first hand. But it's very suspicious when the "Car of the Year" soon becomes the "Dud of the Year." Look at these past "winners," as many are laughable in hindsight: 2006 Honda Civic 2005 Chrysler 300 2004 Toyota Prius 2003 Infiniti G35 Coupe / Sedan 2002 Ford Thunderbird 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser 2000 Lincoln LS 1999 Chrysler 300M 1998 Chevrolet Corvette ...
