Re: Yes.... a Honda Accord or Toyota Camry ... [zzzoom6]
zzzoom6 - sorry for the late reply - was out of town for the weekend! drove a little more in the 9-3 sportcombi today. plenty of power - maybe a little more body lean than i'd like - but i bet the Aero would be better in that regards. its a slushbox, and i much prefer to row my own gears...so i dont really like the transmission - but im not being subjective on that :P all in ... Camry Purchase Need Help
I've been shopping for a used Camry, i've found a used 2006 Camry with the 2.4 engine priced at $16,800 which has 32,000 miles on it at a Chevy dealership, this Camry isn't certified since its not at a Toyota Dealership, I've also seen some 2005 models with the 2.4 engine at Toyota Dealerships however they are priced at $17,900 with higher miles into the 40k's also ... 2007 Toyota Camry Problems and Repairs
Re: alleged airbag nondeployment [210delray]
I was not referring to the Consumer Affairs site about a 2005 Camry. I was referring to the Motortrend site about 2007 Camry: http://www.motortrend.com/cars/2007/toyota/camry/recalls/index.html Glad to see that the normal procedure is to contact the car owners affected by first class mail but has Toyota followed that normal procedure to inform the owners ... Re: alleged airbag nondeployment [210delray]
I now have checked the Consumer Affairs site and here's the report: Phyllis of Heflin LA (04/04/07) Was in an accident on Feb. 25, 2007. I was headed North and a car headed South turned in front of me on a rural highway. I hit her head on and then hit a deep ditch. I have a 2005 Toyota Camry and the damage totaled 10,000 but the insurance company decided to fix it. The airbags ... Read More...
Re: sales of midsize sedans in March [leadfoot6]
The Sonata was the car that, when introduced, bested the Camry in multiple comparos. (The Altima available at that time wasn't deemed worthy to even participate in those comparos.) More than a shot over the bow of Toyota and Nissan, I'd say. And they have responded with better designs in the past year. And you may have noticed that since the '06 Sonata was introduced, ... 2007 Toyota Camry Transmission Questions
Re: Flare, NOT hesitation [user777]
I just happened to stumble across these posts concerning the V6 flare issue and it reminded me of my experience with my former 2005 Camry 4 cyl. By the way, I should have kept my Camry because my 2006 Jetta has had nothing but problems and the fuel mileage is terrible...anyway...I always remember that when I was accelerating from a stop or on the highway or backroad ... Chevrolet Malibu vs. Toyota Camry vs. Honda Accord
Re: The Shadow Knows [captain2]
The Camry 3.0 v6 was known for oil sludge in the early 2000's. Instead of redesigning the engine, Toyota slapped undersized head gaskets on it to raise the head temperature for a more efficient burn, trying to gain fuel efficiency and a ULEV rating, causing the problem and then denied it was their fault. GM re-engineered the 3.8 in 1996 and it was voted one of the ... Read More...
Re: 2005 Camry damaged [leob1]
I am sorry to hear that someone hit your car, leob1. That's never a fun situation to be in. You actually are lucky that your vehicle is leased though. As long as you have it repaired properly, you won't have to pay any sort of excess wear and tear penalty on it and the bank that you are leasing it through will have to absorb any diminished value that results from it having ... Chevrolet Malibu vs. Toyota Camry vs. Honda Accord
Re: 0-60 and hp [malexbu]
If I'd have based my main need on handling and power I would've bought an Altima. Gotta love the feel of those cars! I'm not really into street racing anymore and didnt buy the Malibu for the 1/4 mile track. Words like "huffs and puffs", "all in the next county before a Malibu driver can even realize what's happening", "may 'feel' quick initially", "antiquated and ... Read More...
05-05 Camry
Let me put a different spin on this discussion. Let's go back in time and imagine we're having this discussion on 2005. V6 Camry vs V6 Malibu. Camry - 210 hp (lowered to below 200 for 06), Malibu - 201. Torgue the same, but a on lower rpm for Malibu. Mileage about the same, 0-60: Camry 7.6, Maliby 7.8. I fail to see much difference other than the price and depreciation. ... Read More...
