Vibration with 2005 V6 XLE Camry

Just got a Toyota Certified 2005 V6 XLE and noticed two annoying things. First during acceleration I feel a noticable vibration coming thru the gas petal, often around 15-20, 25-30, 35-40 miles per hour. If I park the car and rev the engine I barely feel it if at all. Are these speeds when the car is shifting? Also I noticed that if I take my foot of the brake pedal quickly ... Read More...

Toyota Camry Real World MPG

2007 camry

I get 26-28 mpg pure freeway on my 2004 AT, and tested each subsequent year since for mpg. The 2005-2007 AT did get a little lower mpg on pure freeway, despite their 5 speed transmission. The 2007 got the worst mpg (under 25 mpg)for pure freeway, and that was a case in which I made consecutive long road trips with my 2004 on the same route (which got within the 26-28 mpg ... Midsize Sedans 2.0

Re: What so special about these "top rated" cars? [backy]

Backy: GM has nowhere to go but up but it is true the Caddy CTS is stunning inside and the Buick Enclave is gorgeous. The new Malibu interior was too cheap looking and feeling. I was dissapointed. The Mazda CX-9 is stunning inside. You are right about Hyundai as well. Having owned a 2005 Camry, the minute I sat in the 2007 at the dealership I could tell in 5 seconds they ... Read More...

Re: What so special about these "top rated" cars? [pengwin]

Pengwin: the fit/finish and quality of materials used in the interiors of cars has nose dived the past 2 years with few exceptions. I leased a 2000 Toyota Solara SLE with leather and owned a 2005 Camry XLE with leather. Both of these cars had thick padded dashes, soft touch materials throughout and impeccable fit/finish. I currently own a 2005 Sienna and the the ... Read More...

Re: Most Wanted Re: the meaning of zoom-zoom [robertsmx]

I think people, from my interaction with them everyday at work, that many Honda/Toyota/Nissan/Mazda buyers look at CR for reliability and quality before they look at JD Powers. From talking to a lot of people in the auto industry, connected to many different mfgr's, JD Powers is not really regarded as a great source for anything. They are more like a Car and Driver ... Re: Most Wanted Re: the meaning of zoom-zoom [akirby]

Let us take JD Powers word on overall dependability, in that it represents a typical buyer and a real scenario. This is how some of the midsize sedans stacked up: Honda Accord: 4/5 Nissan Altima: 3/5 Toyota Camry: 3/5 Ford Fusion: 3/5 Hyundai Sonata: 3/5 Saturn Aura: 2/5 Mazda6: 2/5 VW Passat: 2/5 The only car that is said to be better than Camry is the Accord. But, ... Read More...

2007 Toyota Camry Problems and Repairs

Re: Toyota reliability declines according to CR [teamtbo]

Toyota is well aware of quality problems unfortunatley it took them a while to admit that. This is from Toyota Highlander press release. "Customer First" Quality As vehicles become increasingly complex, Toyota has realized the need to re-vamp the engineering and manufacturing processes. In 2005, President Katsuaki Watanabe took the reigns of Toyota Motor ... Read More...

Toyota Camry Real World MPG

Re: 2004 camry mpg [drem]

I am partially amused, but more distressed by this type of message, that reports astonishing mileages of 30 or 36 or even more mpg on a toyota camry. The car doesn't do it. Yours doesn't. Mine doesn't. Nobody's does. It get's 26-28 mpg, on 100% freeway. That is it. It doesn't matter how you drive. Of course, anybody can say anything on the web - me included. But do you ... Re: 03 Camry Engine Humming [dchen2003]

I own a 2005 camry with the 4 cyl engine and it has a humming noise, too. It is very noisy. I am very disappointed, since I purchased the camry because I wanted a quiet car. I had a 1991 corolla before and the engine was much quieter than the camry's. If the humming noise wasn't there it would be a quiet engine. The dealer said the humming is normal. I have put in a complaint ... Read More...

2007 Toyota Camry Transmission Questions

Re: Just to recap, it seems that [wwest]

wsest- Ah but if it were just that simple!!! You have preveiously stated on this forum that constant downshifting/increase in rpm/reaching set cc speed, and not holding that speed for more than just a few seconds before downshifting again was abnormal and possibly a faulty design since latest TSB (EG-037) did not fix. I agree, but Toyota cannot fix. The point ... Read More...
