I averaged 27.5mpg and filled up 9 times. I just took the wife's minivan on its first trip ( 2007 Toyota Sienna LE, V6 260 HP ). 28 mpg, 26 mpg and 28 mpg on the first 3 tanks. I personally have taken more than a "gander" at what has been posted here. A few people post frequently about getting extraordinary mpg's in the 30's; most post a few times that don't get anywhere near that. recommending and requiring are certainly 2 different things - the Toyota 2GR in the Camry is rated at 268hp running reqular, the mechanically identical ES is rated at 272 hp running premium - the Avalon when it first came out was rated way up at 280hp with premium as you note, a combination of some rating rule changes as well as the gas change to regular has it now at ... huh? Premium is NOT required for either the VQ or the 2GR either. I had the exact same problem with my 2003 toyota camry, but the dealer ship told me that there is no defect or recall. There telling me I need a new engine that is going to cost me 11,000.00. No, it should be completely replaced by the 2012 model, but updated for 2010. They almost always make an update by the 4th model year. How "major" it is varies, but is generally a lot more than just new paint colors. The 2010 will be the fourth year of this body style. Look at the 2005 Camry vs the 2002-2004 models. we have a 2003 camry which we loved until yesterday. 88,000 miles, running great, until we noticed what we thought to be, coolant under the car. We took it to the dealer yesterday to find out it is a blown engine. They said it is a defect. This had no warning at all until the leak. The car ran great, no noise at all. I believe most states have closed the 30-minute window during twilight when headlights didn't have to be on. I don't have a lot of experience with fog lights -- my 2005 Camry is the first car in over 30 years of car ownership to have them.
