2nd Time Around
Vehicle
2005 Toyota Camry LE 4dr Sedan (2.4L 4cyl 5M)
Review
This is my 2nd Camry. My first was a 2002 which I love and still have. My 2005 is even better. I love the steering wheel mounted radio controls, the extra cog in the tranny, and the slight bump in HP and fuel economy. This car is smooth as can be. Great car for long trips. Interior materials are better quality than the 07 redesign. I love the fact that all I have to do is general maintenance. I have no troubles with this car or my 02 (which now has 140,000 miles). Have not had to see a mechanic not even once. As far as sportiness, there is none to be had here, look elsewhere. But if you are looking for a good car, that is smooth, quiet and reliable, then look no further than the Camry.
Favorite Features
The smooth ride. Quiet engine. Rock solid reliability. The leather and fake wood pkg in my LE. Interior looks XLE for LE coin.
Suggested Improvements
Needs a tad more power. A little more sportiness in the steering and handling.

I'll echo what other folk are saying. Bought mine new in 2005 and have had no problems at all, not even a burnt bulb. I think I'm at 83,000 miles or so now. I put Goodyear Tripletreads on around 40,000 as I didn't like the factory tires, and the Tripletreads greatly increased braking power, corner, and wet-condition handling. I usually get low 30s gas mileage for mix driving and mid thirties for long highway trips. Just be smart and buy this car if you're looking. Oh, and change the in-cabin air filter at least once a year to help with inside fog.
Favorite Features
Excellent reliability, curtain airbags, steering volume control, power driver's seat, great A/C, overhead sunglass storage space
Suggested Improvements
I suggest Toyota and all other auto manufactures should go back to the good old days when they actually put enough paint on cars. This car, like all the recent ones I see, gets road chips entirely too easily. I could slide a hammer over the hood of my old 94 Camry and not even scratch it.

Reliable but not so fun to drive
Vehicle
2005 Toyota Camry Standard 4dr Sedan (2.4L 4cyl 5M)
Review
It's a very reliable car. Low maintenance. However, when I need a sudden burst to accelerate on the freeway, it almost redlines going from 55mph to 65mph.
Favorite Features
I like that the driver's side seat has many adjustment options. The center console is also very handy. Great place to charge your phone or leave personal items out of plain view.
Suggested Improvements
Improve the transmission.
Good car, but

This is my second Camry. The first one Camry 1996 was much better. Seems Toyota lost quality. Disappointed with my purchase. I chose Camry because of reliability, but things like bad shifting in low gears, poor acceleration, hesitation when starting from full stop makes me unhappy.....Get 25 MPG average
Favorite Features
Large trunk, large interior space, good passenger room....

Thought I did my homework part 2

Updating my first review. Paid the dealer to flush and clean out the fuel injectors which immediately improved gas mileage and sluggish tranny. Was advised to run 91 octane to keep clean. At same visit told that rocker arms were cracked and coming out of sleeves. $900.00 repair job and car had 34,000 miles. Filed complaint with Toyota and I had to pay 1/3 of cost. Dealer tried very hard to make it right, so kudos to them, Still disappointed with my purchase. I am looking to trade this car in. I'm going back to Nissan or Honda.
Favorite Features
Car is still so very pretty.
Suggested Improvements
Stereo reception still stinks and can't believe that major parts needed to be replaced.

Best Car I've Ever Owned
Vehicle
2005 Toyota Camry LE 4dr Sedan (2.4L 4cyl 5M)
Review
Just turned 110K now. I've changed oil every 5K, air filter every 15k, and changed transmission fluid at 105K and the old fluid still looked fine. I've gone thru 2 sets of tires. I see no reason why this girl won't be around for at least 300K.
Favorite Features
Radio controls on steering wheel.

Buyer Beware of Paint & People Problems
Vehicle
2005 Toyota Camry XLE V6 4dr Sedan (3.0L 6cyl 5A)
Review
The car itself is very good. However the paint is peeling and the dealer and zone rep refuse to acknowledge the problem. They first tried to say that it was re-painted (I bought it new and would probably remember if I had had a new paint job). Once we got past that issue they decided that I was 3 months out of warranty and 18,000 miles over as well. Apparently Toyota only expects their paint to last 36000 miles or three years. It is a great car, but at $500.00 a pop to have the paint fixed I seriously doubt if I will ever own another Toyota product. Too bad their management personnel and dealers don't have the same level of integrity as their cars.
Favorite Features
Great car to drive.
Suggested Improvements
Keep the quality of the car, but improve the honesty and integrity of the people associated with Toyota.

A Good Option
Vehicle
2005 Toyota Camry LE 4dr Sedan (2.4L 4cyl 5M)
Review
I have owned this car for almost two years now, and so far no problems. I am getting from 29-31 mpg when I drive it more than 90% of the time on the highway. The car is very spacious inside and the radio system sounds pretty good actually. I have the A/C on the minimum all the time and I live in Miami; that's how cold it is. Right now my Camry has 50K miles.
Favorite Features
Cold A/C. Spacious interior.
Suggested Improvements
The motor splash protector need to be build to last longer.

2005 Toyota Camry LE 4dr Sedan (2.4L 4cyl 5M)
Review
Bought this vehicle new. Has easily been the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned with no dealer visits at all. At 73K miles (averaging 19K/year) all I have needed to do is change the tires once and oil regularly. Extremely unexpectedly, haven't even changed the brakes (although I'm close, measured depth was around 55-60% remaining as of a month ago). I log every gallon of gas by the current mileage. On full synthetic oil I'm getting 27 daily to/from work ("leadfooted" - not granny drivin' on V4) but only 33 on pure Hwy at 80mph. Had exactly one defect - manufacturing defect for rear speaker covers - they crumbled after about 3 years.
Favorite Features
Steering column radio controls. Full size spare tire.
Suggested Improvements
Jack mounting points (middle front/middle back) hard to reach - makes sense if you don't want feet sticking in traffic.

No American Car comes close to the Camry
Vehicle
2005 Toyota Camry XLE 4dr Sedan (2.4L 4cyl 5A)
Review
I have driven many cars in my time. Saturn L-2000, Honda Accord 1994, Pontiac Sunfire 1996, Buick Century 1988 and 1998, Buick Lucerne, Dodge Charger (recent) and many others. Besides the Honda Accord, no other car listed comes near the Camry. I have had this car for 70k now, and nothing besides the tires have been replaced, not even the brakes. If you want a car that starts up every day, is safe, comfortable, and is refined, buy a Camry.
Favorite Features
Quality, safety, refinement, looks, seating, fuel economy.
Suggested Improvements
Steering wheel adjustments, better paint perhaps. Nothing else needed.
