Not perfect, but pretty good
Vehicle
2005 Toyota Camry SE 4dr Sedan (2.4L 4cyl 5M)
Review
This is company vehicle, have had it for 2 years, 50,000 miles. Car is peppy for a 4 cylinder, much better than the Mazda6 I had before. Overall, car is very refined, smooth, quiet, very reliable. A couple beefs; some squeaks have appeared in this car and I have some rust appearing on the B pillar. Also, Toyota paint is very soft, chips and scratches easily - had same paint issue on 2001 Camry. Despite minor issues, would definitely get another one.
Favorite Features
Smooth, quiet ride. Big trunk. Good gas mileage.
Suggested Improvements
Seats could be more comfortable. Driving position awkward - steering wheel too far away, doesn't tilt down far enough. These problems have been addressed for 2007.

Great All-Around Car
Vehicle
2005 Toyota Camry Standard 4dr Sedan (2.4L 4cyl 5M)
Review
Our Camry has been flawless in the two years we've owned it. We have consistently gotten over 33 mpg and it handled two New Hampshire winters without a hitch. It's fun to drive, has decent pickup, and is comfortable to ride in for long trips. My wife and I have driven a number of other midsized rental cars on vacations and not once have we found a better vehicle for our needs.
Favorite Features
Large trunk, standard transmission, great "brights" on headlights, and excellent air conditioning/heating system. Also great gas mileage for a decent sized vehicle and the turning radius is unmatched.
Suggested Improvements
Front seats could be a bit deeper and backend rises which makes backing up difficult in some situations.

More good than bad
Vehicle
2005 Toyota Camry SE V6 4dr Sedan (3.3L 6cyl 5A)
Review
Yes, there is a hesitation problem, usually not from a long stop but when you slow down to the lowest gears then try to accelerate quickly. So it jerks sometimes. But once up and going, the car is very smooth and quiet. The engine sounds bad or burdened when accelerated hard though. Even though it's SE (V6), the ride is very comfortable even on the some bumps. I compared it with Honda accord (4-cyl). I felt that Accord has better transmission and build quality but the ride is terrible. I am getting 23.5 mpg on mostly highway usually traveling at 70 mph. It has a V6 punch and is somewhat fun to drive. The seat is comfy and it handles well.
Favorite Features
The ride is good. Very quiet when it's up and going. Audio controls on the wheel. Seats are comfortable. The price is relatively lower than other import V6s.
Suggested Improvements
Lower end transmission behavior. Engine sound at hard start.

2005 Camry XLE V6
Vehicle
2005 Toyota Camry XLE V6 4dr Sedan (3.0L 6cyl 5A)
Review
Overall this is a great car. It's comfortable to drive and gets good mpg for a V6. Transmission downshifts somewhat harsh at lower speeds. No repairs in over 2 years. Wish I could have waited for a 2006.
Favorite Features
Driving position is very comfortable. Road handling is very good.
Suggested Improvements
Transmission should downshift more smoothly.

Best car yet
Vehicle
2005 Toyota Camry SE 4dr Sedan (2.4L 4cyl 5M)
Review
After owning many many cars, this one by far is the best I have owned. Drove it to Florida after buying it and was very pleased with its comfort, reliability, looks, and gas mileage in the 30s while traveling above 80 for extended periods of time. Great car.
Favorite Features
Sunroof, 5 speed, spoiler.
Suggested Improvements
More power couldn't hurt, but is more than sufficeint for the car.

Excellent/reliable
Vehicle
2005 Toyota Camry LE 4dr Sedan (2.4L 4cyl 5M)
Review
The Camry has more pep than people think. I passed a Prius on the road thinking "How bad does this look that a Camry is speeding by?" Although many Camry drivers may be the more cautious type, they drive as fast as the driver wants.
Favorite Features
Reliable and nice looking.
Suggested Improvements
The door to the storage compartment under the radio didn't work from the day I purchased it. But it was covered under waranty and they replaced it without any issues.

Excellent Car
Vehicle
2005 Toyota Camry LE 4dr Sedan (2.4L 4cyl 5M)
Review
Bought it used with 30000 miles on it. Looks extremely nice. HUGE trunk. Great interior. No problems yet. Just a reliable car that's enjoyable to drive. Plently of features too. Roomy interior. Very smooth and quiet engine. I would recommend this car new or used to anyone.
Favorite Features
Trunk, interior size. Engine. Ride. Features. Styling.
Suggested Improvements
Could use better brakes. Rears are drums. Steering could be tighter like an Accord.

Unhappy ex-owner
Vehicle
2005 Toyota Camry LE 4dr Sedan (2.4L 4cyl 5M)
Review
I had the car for 1.5 years and just got rid of it - I couldn't wait to do so. The auto tranny is awful. It hesitates when starting from full stop. Even worse, I had to make way for other cars when going uphill - it doesn't downshift unless floored. The car has big bodyroll when cornering. The steering is so light at high speed and it pulls to the right. Vague steering and a soft suspension make it drive like a boat. Worst of all, if you open the window when there's water on the roof, water drops into the car right on window & door lock buttons - a poor design. Bright spots are great fuel economy and large space. Camry is a pain.
Favorite Features
Large trunk, large interior space and large fuel tank. Fullsize spare (I had flat tires 3 times on the highway, this really helped). Good fuel economy. Bright headlights.
Suggested Improvements
Fix the transmission and the drive by wire. Increase the engine power on such a heavy car. Make the steering tighter at high speed.

Just O.K.
Vehicle
2005 Toyota Camry LE 4dr Sedan (2.4L 4cyl 5M)
Review
Bought this car pre-owned. Some friends owned one. Would caution pre-owned purchasing. Thought Toyota had a better car. This car is slow when first pushing on the gas, and shifts slow. Thought it would get better gas mileage than it does. The good news, it's fast when it finally gets going. Also, expected a quieter vehicle, but I have found that it makes little noises as if it wasn't pieced together tightly and some things are now loose.
Favorite Features
Radio buttons on steering wheel. Keeps eyes on road.
Suggested Improvements
Definitely improve the transmission! I would put a red light on the door so when you park and you open your door to oncoming traffic on the street they know your door is open.

Great car for moms
Vehicle
2005 Toyota Camry XLE V6 4dr Sedan (3.0L 6cyl 5A)
Review
I traded in a bulky BMW X5 for this car - wanted something nice, with power, easy on the eyes - and this is it. I love the navigation, the leather is beautiful, stereo is great. This car is fun to drive and easy on gas, and sporty enough to make being the carpool mom FUN!
Favorite Features
Navigation, sunroof, leather seats.
Suggested Improvements
The newer Camrys are prettier inside ( but not the outside!)
