Toyota Acceleration Problems with Camry

My brother inlaw was considering a Toyota until he found out about all these issues! "Toyota issued the largest recall in company history, affecting 3.8 million vehicles dating back to 2004". http://www.leftlanenews.com/a-closer-look-at-toyotas-sudden-acceleration-problem- - - .html They designed a car with out a kill switch and a poorly designed ... Toyota Camry Real World MPG

You will do 2-3 mpg better

crazedcommuter, You will get your best mpg and slickest running engine in the 40-100 thousand mile range. But even at 120,000, my 1999 4cyl auto still gets a sweet 35-37 at a 72 mph cruise. I drove a Toyota Versa at a 72 mph cruise and got 41 mpg. The 5 mpg edge was not worth the roomier and more luxurious Camry IMO. I absolutely believe that the 1999 is a much better car ... Toyota Camry Prices Paid and Buying Experience

Re: 2010 Toyota Camry SE I4 AT [renew2]

Can you tell what extra fees beside sale tax? I bought a car from Sterling Mccall back in 2004. Just dig up the paper work to see what all the fees were and here are what I found. I think I got ripped off back then with some of these fees. Try to be smarter this time. MSRP $30,178 Selling Price $27,614 DPA (don't know what this "fee" is, and it seems like I could never get a ... Read More...

2007 Toyota Camry Problems and Repairs

Re: My 2007 Camry XLE [djm2]

I guess we're just polar opposites! I recommend (and practice) avoiding the dealer entirely except for warranty work. I do all the routine maintenance myself except for jobs above my skill level, patience, or lack of suitable tools or equipment, in which case I pay a reputable independent shop to do it (not the Quickie Lubes or tire or department store chains). ... Toyota Camry DIY Oil Change

Re: oil filter [kiawah]

Yes, you're correct on the 2010 Camry 4-cylinder --it has the cartridge type of filter. But the 2009 model with the "old" 4-cylinder engine should still have the conventional spin-on filter like my 2004 and '05. If so, you have to get under the car. It's in front of the engine oil pan, toward the passenger side, in the narrow space between the engine and the plastic ... Read More...

Toyota Camry AC Questions

Re: AC light flashing [jsheridan64]

I have a 2004 Toyota Camry XLE it has 126000 miles on it. My AC light started flashing the other day and I am assuming that this means that I need the AC recharged or something like that. Would I be right in assuming that or is that even something that could be done? Or might it be something more serious? If someone could let me know that would be great. Yes, that could be ... Toyota Camry Basic Maintenance Questions

Re: 2007 camry [smurfing1957]

Again, I'm the guy that started the ruckus over the white tank under the battery in my 2004 4 cyl Camry LE. Moving on... I'll join the eternal fray over when to change your automatic tranny fluid (ATF). Possibly never. And the authority for this is Toyota itself. On my tranny dipstick, at the top, there is a little message printed: "Notice: No need to replace ATF under ... Read More...

Re: 2004 Toyota Camry 4Cyl Ck Eng Lt, P0420 [tmoney4]

Belive it or not it will be back on. If u had the code cleared it may stay out for several weeks or even a month Trust me it will be back. U will do no more damage to ur car if u clear it everytime it comes back on. But in most states it it has a code current ot in memory it will fail for an emissions sticker. I bet u have a cat that is borderline bad and under the rite circumstances ... Read More...
