What the mechanic told you is certainly possible. Rear wheel bearings in newer cars are rarely serviceable. Instead, they're sealed and pre-lubed for "life". (Translation: they're good 'til they're bad - at which point they require replacement.) If the left rear's on its way out, expect the right rear isn't far behind. Excellent thorough review. Thanks for the same. A few points(and certainly not an attempt to smear Toyota) (1)I read quite a bit of the Lexus 300/330 thread because I was on the verge of buying a used Lexus. This 2004 Camry has 53,000 miles. A couple of months ago I heard a low growling noise from the wheels or the tires. I was recently told by a mechanic (who listened to it) it was the left rear wheel bearing. Has anyone else reported this problem? Read More...

With all due respect, I have no buyer's remorse for purchasing a 2006 Accord SE auto. The Sonata, Camry, and Fusion are good cars. For my new Accord, I paid $18,000 before TTL. At the time, I could not purchase a Ford Fusion (even if I wanted to) for a cheaper figure, or the 2007 Camry LE (going then for 19,700 plus TTL (this being May/June of 2006). I don't know first hand. But it's very suspicious when the "Car of the Year" soon becomes the "Dud of the Year." It is still a Camry. The interior of the Camry does not compare in quality to the TL. The performance of the Camry (SE V6) does not compare to the Tl (especially the handling). corolla is slow as as hell.It wont take hour of abuse.the beauty of vtech is you can abuse it every day and it still go to half million mile without breaking. The Corolla has VVt-i, which is Toyota speak for Variable Valve Timing, too.
