TCH Gripes
While I love my TCH, I have a few gripes about it. Gripe #1: That darn climate control system. In the warmer months, if Auto is off, the recirc feature automatically comes on and makes the cabin uncomfortably humid. In the colder months, if auto is off, the darn thing blasts hot air in the cabin when you set the temp to 65. Turn it down 1 degree, and it brings in cold winter ... Read More...

Camry Purchase Need Help
I've been shopping for a used Camry, i've found a used 2006 Camry with the 2.4 engine priced at $16,800 which has 32,000 miles on it at a Chevy dealership, this Camry isn't certified since its not at a Toyota Dealership, I've also seen some 2005 models with the 2.4 engine at Toyota Dealerships however they are priced at $17,900 with higher miles into the 40k's also ... Re: sales of midsize sedans in March [leadfoot6]
The Sonata was the car that, when introduced, bested the Camry in multiple comparos. (The Altima available at that time wasn't deemed worthy to even participate in those comparos.) More than a shot over the bow of Toyota and Nissan, I'd say. And they have responded with better designs in the past year. And you may have noticed that since the '06 Sonata was introduced, ... Re: configuration advice needed 2007 camry SE [moskowa]
It will likely be difficult to obtain the SE without the moonroof, considering the way Toyota "bundles" options (in fact, not according to what's shown in the brochure). I have a 2004 Camry with a moonroof, and no doubt the 2007's is similar. There is some wind noise with the roof tilted open, but it's not that extreme at 55-65 mph. If you open it all the way, you'll ... Read More...
Chevrolet Malibu vs. Toyota Camry vs. Honda Accord
Re: 0-60 and hp [malexbu]
If I'd have based my main need on handling and power I would've bought an Altima. Gotta love the feel of those cars! I'm not really into street racing anymore and didnt buy the Malibu for the 1/4 mile track. Words like "huffs and puffs", "all in the next county before a Malibu driver can even realize what's happening", "may 'feel' quick initially", "antiquated and ... Read More...

New 50th Anniversary
I traded my 2004 Avalon XLS on a Camry 50th Anniversary Edition eight days ago. In the first 1500 miles, primarily highway, I have received 41 mpg. I got Edmunds fair market value + $500 for my trade-in and Edmunds fair market value - $500 for the purchase. The car had arrived three hours before I bought it and the salesman did not realize it was the only one the dealership ... Read More...
Chevrolet Malibu vs. Toyota Camry vs. Honda Accord
Re: I've had both [malexbu]
this argument is ridiculous and pointless. the malibu is NOT $7,000 less than a comparable Camcord. more like $2,000. Now, referring to malexbu's circular, annoying post. Clearly, no one has experienced massive troubles with a 2004+ malibu. it's been three years. THAT IS WHY we look at 2001 malibu's. Because the same company is making it, and even if the underpinnings ... Read More...

Differing oil weights
Have a 2004 Camry LE with I4. Wonderful car. Manual clearly states 5W30 oil should be used, as does oil filler cap on top of engine. Yet several local Toyota dealers use only 10W30. So also many independents. That way they don't have to keep multiple barrels in the shop. Called several dealers before I finally found two who use 5W30. Is the difference so minor as to ... Re: I've had both [lovetocamp]
,--- elroy5 [ Mar 06, 2007 (7:16 pm) ] | | This statement is very familiar. It's the same thing they said about | the 97-02 Malibu. In 97 it was named "Car of the year" and was | "recomened" by Consumer Reports. I have experience with the 01 | Malibu, and it is a very crude car. I guess we should be concerned with the new (2004+) Malibu now that we are in the year 2007 ;-) | "Quality ... Read More...

Re: 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY AUTOMATIC TRAMSMISSION PROBLEMS V6 [wwest]
Suspect? So why don't my 2004 and 2005 Camrys have this hesitation? Both are 4-cylinders, the older one with the 4-speed auto and the newer one with the 5-speed auto. Read More...
