Toyota Camry Real World MPG

Re: 2007 camry [keisl]

Felicitations: Not so happy holidays, if you are a camry owner and really tracking your mileage, is it? Mileage isn't like what is stated on the sticker, or what you read in a few isolated posts on this website? Join the party. I haven't read your previous posts; but I bet you've read mine. I would be impressed with a 2007 camry that got 28.5 mpg as an average; but that's ... Read More...

Camry dropped off Consumer Reports recommended list

Re: observation [acco20]

No I haven't, not yet at least. Do you have experience with one or do you own one? I don't know, I am just excited about the V6 SE. The Hybrid is cool, but the V6 will do 0-60 in 5.8 seconds (Car and Driver, Feb 07) and still returns about 30 mpg on the highway. If it's like our Sienna, it will do better than the rated mpg. It's probably a childish thing, I just want the horsepower! ... Read More...

Would you buy a current generation Camry?

Re: I own a 2007 V6 Camry with no problems! [210delray]

Good Morning 210delray: I take long road trips with this vehicle, and I do not want issues on the road. (This is the reason for the Toyota Extended Warranty, and the 2,500 mile oil and filter changes.) As you can see from my postings, I accumulate the mileage very rapidly. Some of it is "stop-and-go-driving" and some is "highway driving". Since I am in sales, I cannot ... Read More...

Toyota Camry Cooling System Questions

Coolant level is going down slowly

I've bought 2004 Camry LE 4 Cyl. 7 months ago and has been driving it since. Coolant level in overflow tank was stable when I have been checking it for the first couple months. Then I stopped paying attention, but recently noticed that my overflow tank coolant level is below LOW mark. I can see coolant when I open radiator cap with the engine cold. Is it normal for this ... Re: my 2004 camry sucks [210delray]

Toyota Customer Relations pick up the bill of the part this time. I pay for the labor and I appreciate it. Talking about the tire, the life span of 2004 Camry original equiped is 1.6 times the standard. While on the market, most of the tires are normally 4X the standard. the coolant reservior went empty in about a year. I need to check the radiator pressure. I have another ... Read More...

Re: 2007 camry [phd86]

"The 2007 got the worst mpg (under 25 mpg)for pure freeway, and that was a case in which I made consecutive long road trips with my 2004 on the same route (which got within the 26-28 mpg already mentioned)." This is really unfortunate. Any chance of something mechanical being wrong with it? Dirt in the wheel bearings, clogged intake, blown O2 sensor? Aftermarket ... Read More...

2007 camry

I get 26-28 mpg pure freeway on my 2004 AT, and tested each subsequent year since for mpg. The 2005-2007 AT did get a little lower mpg on pure freeway, despite their 5 speed transmission. The 2007 got the worst mpg (under 25 mpg)for pure freeway, and that was a case in which I made consecutive long road trips with my 2004 on the same route (which got within the 26-28 mpg ... more misquotes and unsubstantiated statements

in response to #494: Quote: "Folks - I think we have found PHD's problem!!!! He runs his tank dry and sucks up all the dirt and crud on the bottom right into the engine and fuel system. This in turn totally screws up his emission system causing his car to run rich, thus resulting in such poor MPG. Oh, and from any Toyota (or any other manufacturer's) owner's manual: ... I will wait for the diesels, or the diesel hybrids to appear on the scene. Honda is bring in diesels in 2009, and I hope Toyota does too. Read More...

Re: 2004 camry mpg [drem]

I am partially amused, but more distressed by this type of message, that reports astonishing mileages of 30 or 36 or even more mpg on a toyota camry. The car doesn't do it. Yours doesn't. Mine doesn't. Nobody's does. It get's 26-28 mpg, on 100% freeway. That is it. It doesn't matter how you drive. Of course, anybody can say anything on the web - me included. But do you ...
