Vehicle

1990 Toyota Camry Deluxe 4dr Sedan

Review

This vehicle is what gave Toyota the great reputation it enjoyed for 20 yrs until the recall problems today! Last spring I had the engine rebuilt and installed it myself to enjoy it for the next 20 yrs as it gets 20 mpg city & 34 mpg hwy! (Manual transmission) 5 spd!

Best Features

Great sound system as I play cds from Hank Williams to Metallica!

Worst Features

A tighter steering radius as I have also owned a 1990 vw passat that only bested the Toyota by making a tighter u turn!

This little car is "tougher than it looks" as I had the misfortune of finding out on dec 30 when a fool pulled blindly out into traffic as I was traveling the inside lane past a "big box retailer"! But thanks to the volume of Camrys sold between 1988 & 1991 I was able to obtain the parts to restore my former "creampuff" for $150.oo from my local junkyard! (In 2009 I had installed a new engine), that barely had 9k miles on it @ the time of the crash. Hopefully, the bodyshop will have a restored camry with a new coat of paint for me in a week as the Toyota authorized shop is making excellent progress!
