2005 Toyota Avalon Sedan XLS 4dr Sedan (3.5L 6cyl 5A)

Review

I am selling the car after 25 months of ownership. What a disappointment. Worst highway car I have ever owned. Can't keep it between the lines and forget about driving it on the highway when it is breezy. Transmission is the worst at slow speed. Motor is very noisy. AC climate control in the winter is very poor. Steering problems, oil leaks, radio problems. This car is not what the so-called experts claim it to be. Buy some other vehicle. Don't listen to the experts.

2005 Toyota Avalon Sedan Limited 4dr Sedan (3.5L 6cyl 5A)

Review

Great power, economy and comfort. Lots of nice features and well thought out. Sharp looking but not gaudy.

Favorite Features

Rear window sun screen. Heated and cooled seats. Sliding armrest in front. Keyless ignition is great.

Suggested Improvements

Trunk should be locked at speed. Can accidentally open. Navigation system should be much more user friendly. Touch screen is mandatory.

2005 Toyota Avalon Sedan Limited 4dr Sedan (3.5L 6cyl 5A)

Review

Owned previous model 2004 xls. Upon the redesign traded for 2005. No real quality issues for the new model with the exception of the radio door sticking. Needs minor adjustment. Brakes are a bit sluggish with heavy humidity on first stop. Other wise no issues on the first 16000 miles. Comfort, features, gas mileage, all wonderful. Heat and air seats, two thumbs up!

Favorite Features

Push button start and entry. Laser cruise spoils you!

Suggested Improvements

All controls should be night lighted, especially seat controls.

2005 Toyota Avalon Sedan XLS 4dr Sedan (3.5L 6cyl 5A)

Review

We have 20K miles on our 2005. We love the car but it has been in the shop several times. It does have a transmission hesitation but is only an issue in rush hour. Currently, it is in the shop for another month awaiting a new steering assembly.

Favorite Features

Engine is refined and quick. Interior is quite and comfortable. Great mileage on the highway. JBL stereo is excellent. Great ride.

Suggested Improvements

Transmission hesitation needs to be resolved after 2 years! Reliability is less than other vehicles I have owned.

Review

After 25,000 miles this car still looks great and is running flawless. Makes long driving trips a breeze with all the comforts one would expect from this fine automobile.

Favorite Features

Quiet ride, climate control (especially the heated and cooled seats), smooth handling and more than adequate power avaiable for all driving. The stability traction is proving to be a blessing in the winter driving (also through tornados).
