You Cannot Beat This Car!
By Ken Armstrong on

2001 Toyota Avalon XLS 4dr Sedan w/Bucket Seats (3.0L 6cyl 4A)

Outside of tires and batteries, this car has had no repair work, and has never been in the shop with 80,000 miles. I do my own maintenance. Original brakes with a lot of city driving. Hey, just use the transmission to slow down. Not a hot rod, not a sports car, but runs great and handles pretty darn well too. The ride is superb and the car is extremely comfortable on long trips. Cannot ask for more than this car has given. The best value anyplace!

Best Features

Great brakes, heated seats, smooth ride, very quiet, solid reliability, great sound system, interior materials of high quality - still looks great except for some wear on driver's leather seat, paint still shines up like new.

Worst Features

Original 16" Michelin tires were crap - not the car's fault. Crooked tread (yes you could feel it) and wore out in record time. It could be a little better looking, and the leather on the steering wheel is peeling off on top. Could be the AZ sun got to it? Not much on this car to complain about.
