2007 Toyota 4Runner SUV Sport Edition 4dr SUV 4WD (4.0L 6cyl 5A)

Review

Looking for an SUV with a little bit of everything; handling, fun to drive, tough, reliable, smart and gorgeous? Look no further.

Favorite Features

Ride, not excessive with small cute details that won't work after a while, handling, and of course, the look. And it goes almost anywhere, great for car camping!

Suggested Improvements

MPG, but I get 24-25 on road trips. About 20 MPG around town.

2007 Toyota 4Runner SUV SR5 4dr SUV 4WD (4.0L 6cyl 5A)

Review

This 4Runner has been in the dealership 4 times for steering vibration / flutter / pulsing. The area Toyota technical rep has been working with the dealership to determine and fix the problem. They keep changing and re-road force balancing the tires and nothing works. They tell me that this vibration is normal for the vehicle and they are just tring to get the best set of tires that give the least vibration. It seems that it is not possible for it to be fixed. Toyota quality is not what I thought. An unhappy owner with 2000 miles.

Favorite Features

Truck looks sharp and can carry what I require.

Suggested Improvements

Resolve steering wheel vibration issue.

2007 Toyota 4Runner SUV Limited 4dr SUV (4.0L 6cyl 5A)

Review

It was a toss up between ML 350 and the 4Runner. The MB has very poor reliability but the Toyota has no luxury options such as GPS. Sat on the fence for months until I came across a nearly new dealer demo I couldn't pass up. Very happy with it so far. It's like choosing between the hot, high maintenance person or the plain all around good person. One is much easier to live with.

Favorite Features

Impressed how it towed my 22' boat better than my v8 Grand Cherokee. Transmission is silky smooth. LED tail lights. Tail gate lock pulls the hatch in softly.

Suggested Improvements

The AC controls work well but are ugly. How about some classy buttons to match the classy interior? GPS. Back up camera. Auto tail gate (at least make it not so heavy). Xenon lights.

2007 Toyota 4Runner SUV Sport Edition 4dr SUV 4WD (4.7L 8cyl 5A)

Review

Second 4Runner purchased. Incredibly well built and drives like a sports car! Made a HUGE mistake in the selection of this vehicle model stereo. The first 4Runner I owned had the JBL Synthesis 10 speaker system in it and it could blow you away. This 2006, I paid no attention and ended up with the basic head unit and basic speakers. Thousands of dollars later, I have aftermarket.

Favorite Features

This vehicle handles very well. It is heavy enough to feel solid, yet light enough to drive like a sports car. I feel very safe in the is vehicle both in town as well as on the open road.

Review

After months of research I purchased the 4Runner, and couldn't be happier. The look, feel, and quality of the vehicle is exceptional. This is not a haul your family around SUV (get a highlander if you need that). This is a true, rugged, go anywhere, drive over anything SUV. Ride quality is exceptional for a truck based SUV, gas mileage is very good as well. Resale value is through the roof, and if you opt not to trade in after your term is up, you can get 200k miles easy. Short of driving it off a cliff, it just might outlast you. Can be a little tough getting in/out for taller people, but this is an off road truck, not a minivan.

Favorite Features

The moonroof, traction/stab control, comfort, sound system, the rugged sexy look. Almost too many things to list. I can almost hear the vehicle just begging to go drive over a mountain.

Suggested Improvements

Power seats standard, window controls need better placement. Just do away with the 3rd row seats, I think they are silly for this type of vehicle. Leave that for the crossovers and minivans. Would love an option for a completely power assisted lift gate. Rear window up on key remote.
