Traded a 2000 4Runner for the new 2003. Wow, what an improvement! And I thought the 2000 was nice! There is so much more power in the new one. All the traction systems make it way easier to control as well.

Seems to be a good SUV, but it's a bit on the ugly side. Toyota quality with a V8 for a decent price is what sells the vehicle. If it wasn't a Toyota then it would not be worth buying.

I got the first in the state. My LTD 03' is fully loaded minus the GPS. I had a 98 Sr5 Loaded and this is a vast improvement especially in comfort and handling. It rides like a luxury vehicle and yet is strong like the SUV it is. Only thing I miss is memory seating. So many nice features. I also have a 2001 Corvette and although they are in different classes I will have a though time deciding which to drive on sunny days. Toyota got it perfect and the 4Runner is back on top.

I was very impressed with the ride and interior design. The v8 didn't seem all that quick, I wonder if the v6 will be enough for this heavy a truck. The plasic lower body panels of the SR5 and sport are ugly like and Avalanche. at $40k + for a Limited (the only model without the ugly plastic) it is overpriced.

The 2003 4runner is a great suv inside and out. Great V8 along with an inspiring interior. It's a true SUV with extreme comfort. Towing is adequate along with cargo space. Along with Toyota's reliabity record, it is a great invesment.

Went down yesterday to look at the new 4Runner. A BIG improvement over the third generation. Pros: new V8 is quite peppy in 2WD form, seats are extremely comfortable, transmission shits smoothly, respectable fuel economy, extremely smooth ride, peace of mind that it will last. Cons: Where's that 3rd row seat??? Not much space for cargo, a little noisy when sunroof is open, radio/climate ctrl. illumination not very bright at night; although instrument lights are bright. Looks like a winner to me.
