2003 Toyota 4Runner SR5 4WD 4dr SUV (4.7L 8cyl 5A)

Review

the 03 4runner is a perfect car for me. the car had never been in my shopping lists before untill the v8 showed up. for suv i came from toyota 94 LC, 97LC,98LC,01ML55(the worst suv i experinced),& the currently i drive the 01MDX 02RV4. i got all the things i want for a car and the things i don't need such as 3rd seat big cargo room. in fact i wish the double deck shouldn't be there. it serves me no purpose. did i drive the luxrious cars? a few of them for years. with 4runner i don't miss them.

2003 Toyota 4Runner Sport Edition 4WD 4dr SUV (4.7L 8cyl 5A)

Review

Traded a 2000 4Runner for the new 2003. Wow, what an improvement! And I thought the 2000 was nice! There is so much more power in the new one. All the traction systems make it way easier to control as well.

Favorite Features

V8 with 5A, XREAS works great, sound system, auto-shut rear hatch, cupholders oozing out of every nook and cranny, split level storage.

Suggested Improvements

More power outlets up front. Wouldn't dual exhaust be sweet? Much better power but some of the competition has +300hp. Leather seats in the Sport would be nice, sure it scuffs but it's easier to wipe down after a dusty ride.

2003 Toyota 4Runner SR5 Rwd 4dr SUV (4.7L 8cyl 5A)

Review

Seems to be a good SUV, but it's a bit on the ugly side. Toyota quality with a V8 for a decent price is what sells the vehicle. If it wasn't a Toyota then it would not be worth buying.

Favorite Features

V8 and the fact that it is a toyota.

Suggested Improvements

Could use more space inside. Styling.

Review

I was very impressed with the ride and interior design. The v8 didn't seem all that quick, I wonder if the v6 will be enough for this heavy a truck. The plasic lower body panels of the SR5 and sport are ugly like and Avalanche. at $40k + for a Limited (the only model without the ugly plastic) it is overpriced.

Favorite Features

Ride and interior.

Suggested Improvements

Lose the ugly gray plastic lower body panels on the SR5. The Limited is overpriced.

Review

I got the first in the state. My LTD 03' is fully loaded minus the GPS. I had a 98 Sr5 Loaded and this is a vast improvement especially in comfort and handling. It rides like a luxury vehicle and yet is strong like the SUV it is. Only thing I miss is memory seating. So many nice features. I also have a 2001 Corvette and although they are in different classes I will have a though time deciding which to drive on sunny days. Toyota got it perfect and the 4Runner is back on top.

Favorite Features

Interior layout and roominess. Overall ride and comfort.

Suggested Improvements

Memory seating and interior floor lamps for entry lighting.

Sound System, V8 power, reliability

Review

I believe this is a real solid vehicle. I like the interior room and new features. The JBL stereo is outstanding and the new V8 is amazing.

Favorite Features

The new V8 and the smoother ride of the 4runner were the main selling points.

Suggested Improvements

The cladding needs to go. I like how it is color keyed on the Limited, but I did not want to spend an extra $5000 for the Limited version.
