Flexible SUV for the Price
Vehicle
2005 Suzuki XL-7 EX Rwd 4dr SUV (2.7L 6cyl 5A)
Review
This SUV can be found with lots of factory rebates if you're patient, resulting in a really good deal. It has lots of interior flexibility since the rear seats can move and be folded down for extra cargo space. This is the only small-med size SUV I could find that had enough cargo room behind the second row seat to fit my two large dogs. Only a minivan could do the job better, and I needed 4WD. The only minivan with AWD anymore is the Toyota Sienna, which I plain couldn't afford.
Favorite Features
I like the large cargo area. Standard V6 engine, and 4WD at a great price.
Suggested Improvements
Improve the fuel economy! This little SUV will get about 23 on the highway, but you can only expect about 14 in most city driving. I think a SUV of this size should do better. The rear view visibility could also be improved.

My XL-7 is a great family Vehicle. It's small enough to park anywhere yet roomy enough to fit 7 comfortably with room for storage. I highly recommend this inexpensive SUV for the price conscious consumer.

Into the Unknown

2005 Suzuki XL-7 EX III 4WD 4dr SUV (2.7L 6cyl 5A)
Review
We originally owned a 1995 Suzuki Wagon 4WD and liked it very much, with the exception of slightly uncomfortable seats. We now have an XL-7 with all the toys including steering wheel radio controls and heated leather seats. We are recieving 20 mpg out of its V6 engine. The '95 Suzuki would give us 23 mpg with a 4-cyl. We find the seats in our new XL-7 comfortable. I think this car will hold up.
Favorite Features
The sunroof and powered and heated leather seats. I love the steering wheel controls. Line of vision works quite well with us. It seems larger than it actually is.
Suggested Improvements
Will get back on this. It is too new to complain about anything other than the payments.

My Second XL-7
Vehicle
2005 Suzuki XL-7 EX Rwd 4dr SUV (2.7L 6cyl 5A)
Review
I love the fact that my XL-7 has a full frame and that the engine has plenty of power for the city and the highway. The interior is very user friendly. I love my 6 disc CD changer with subwoofer. this truck has a large cargo area and the passenger seats can be made into a chaise lounge by removing the head rest and sliding the seat forward and reclining it back.
Favorite Features
The radio controls on the steering wheel, the wood grain paneling, climate control features, and thermometer.
Suggested Improvements
A little more horse power and lower end torque. Make the back seats a little easier to fold down. Add an inside thermometer.
Awesome Buy!

Review
I researched many midsized SUVs before choosing the Suzuki XL-7. The selling point for me was all the options for the small price. I would have easily paid at least $7,000 more for a Toyota Highlander or Honda Pilot. We also have a '92 Suzuki Swift that has never given us any problems, so this was an easy decision for us. I drove it in the rain for the first time yesterday and it handled quite well. I didn't feel that safety in my previous car. We are going to Lake Tahoe for Christmas and cannot wait to use the 4 wheel drive. We have no problems manuvering this SUV in busy parking lots and tight spots. We are verrry satisfied with our new "Zuke"
Favorite Features
Side mirror defrosters, rear wiper, and 3rd row seating. I love the smooth ride on the freeway. The running boards make it very easy for my two year old to climb into his own seat. The seats are very comfortable. The truck has a sharp and sporty profile. The auto headlights are great.
Suggested Improvements
The front end could be a little more attractive. I think it looks a bit cheap. The AC button goes on too easily when adjusting the temp. Front power seats would be nice. The third row seating is not geared for older children and/or adults.

For the past 12 years I've been driving minivans and I was NOT buying another one. I miss driving a car (pre- kids) and that is what I was hoping to buy. Unfortunately, at this time, that isn't practical. I need a vehicle large enough to cart my boys, their friends, sports equipment, and the dog around. I live in a remote area of NW New Jersey - it takes 20 minutes to get to the nearest grocery store - so I didn't want to buy a gas guzzling full size SUV. We have snowy winters and I love driving in the snow so 4x4 is required. The XL-7 was the answer. It provides all the features I need at a very reasonable price. It's fun to drive, good on gas, and the boys love the sound system. So far, so good.
Favorite Features
I love the exterior appearance, 4WD, 7-passenger seating, heated leather seats, excellent stereo system (with steering wheel controls), rear climate controls, power sunroof, and warranty.
Suggested Improvements
Add a back-up beeper to alert the driver when objects are too close, split rear doors to allow access in tight spaces, power front seats, and armrests on all seats. Also, ssimplify the climate controls. The 3rd row seats should fold completely flat.

I enjoy how it handles and the interior storage for five person seating. I was very pleased with the space and comfort on long trips. The seats are firm, providing good support for the legs, seat and back on short as well as distance trips. I was pleased with braking in emergency conditions.
Favorite Features
There are many standard features found on more expensive cars, such as easily controlled heat and air and temperature controls to monitor inside and outside air.
Suggested Improvements
Larger gas tank. Ability to raise or lower driver seat. Cargo section folds flat with passenger seats.

Review
For the most part my ownership experience has been very positive. Second Suzuki that we have owned, had such good luck with first one that we went back for another. Folding 2nd row rear seats a little cumbersome and don't fold as flat as I would like. My vehicle does not have 3rd row seating, so I can't comment on those. Comfortable to drive and has relatively good performance.
Favorite Features
Size, large enough for comfort without all the extra weight and sheetmetal.
Suggested Improvements
Rear seat belt rattles if not stored exactly right. If rear passenger gets out and leaves the seat belt unstored (as they always do) you have a serious rattle.Cargo cover needs to be closer to rear seat so that it dosen't block so much of the cargo area when not in use.
