My 2003 Suzuki XL-7 fuel door came off too as did a neighbors. Also i have been through several batteries my vehical can't seem to keep power the battery is drained in a few months the alternator was checked and is said to be working. I have to get a jump every time i want to use my SUV and not turn it off.
Our fuel door to our 2002 xl-7 recently fell off, sounds like this has happened to more than a few of these =(. Does anyone know of an interchangeable part or where I can find something that will work? Thanks for your help, hope to hear from you! Brian
I own a 2002 XL-7 Grand Vantara. The stereo & CD Player is Suzuki by Clarion. None of the controls (buttons) work. One day they were fine and the next, nothing. I can play a CD and get it to eject, but nothing happens when I try any of the other buttons. Any help would be appreciated
I'm looking for a service manual for a 2002 suzuki XL7.
Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I have a 2002 Suzuki XL-7, and I think ever since I've had it, it had this problem: When I start the car, it feels like the car jumps when I switch gears (it's automatic). After that, it runs fine. I took it to the dealership, and they don't seem to think it's a problem. All they are telling me is ... Read More
hi everyone, i purchased my suki about three months ago ( 65k ) miles and i just noticed a springy / squeaky nioise coming from the front. anyone ever heard of this? driving me crazy...
watch your accessories and avoid short trips. I have had battery issues with both of my XL-7s. The 2002 and 2007. Both times, our fault. Our 2007 is the bus in the family. So it gets lots of short trips to and from school and day care. Well, we left the satellite radio on one night, and sure enough, dead battery come morning. Since then, no problems. I killed the 2002's ... Read More
I have a 2002 Suzuki XL7 4x4. A few weeks ago I had trouble getting it into reverse and almost everytime I go to put it in reverse it grinds, and the past couple of days it has had trouble starting. It is almost like something is spinning but not catching. Any ideas?
I have a 2002 Touring model XL7. Can anyone share with me what tire size options there are for this vehicle> I currently have 235/60/16 on the car. I'm looking to upgrade. Thanks!
2002, we get around 20 MPG average. When cold weather hits it drops a little and four wheel drive doesnt help.
My wife has a 2002 XL7. We have had great luck with it. 20 MPG average, less is the winter. The OEM tires, Bridgestones, were too soft and they wore down way too quick. The dealership replaced them at no charge. The front brakes wear down a little quicker than most cars, but they stop fine. Had to replace an O2 sensor when a trouble light came on. Follow the owners ... Read More
I own a 2002 xl-7 with 55,000 miles on it. The A/C compressor recently locked up. I searched the internet and found enough people writing about this same failure to indicate that this is a flaw (just google "suzuki a/c problem"). I understand that parts sometimes fail prematurely and believed that Suzuki might feel responsible considering the low mileage of the vehicle and the fact that this is probably related to ... How many miles are on your Suzuki? Check your owner's or car warranty manual - if you have less than 80,000 miles on the SUV, the catalytic converter may be covered under the federal emissions warranty.
This article is far better than another recent review of the vehicle that made it seem impossible to get into the third row. However, I believe that the feature that could set the XL-7 apart from all of the others is the fact that you get a quality Japanese vehicle for the better price. The 2007 is the second XL-7 we own. Yes, we have a 2002 XL-7. To be honest, ... Read More
We just bought the dark cranberry one. Very nice. I can't say for sure how well this XL-7 will treat us. It is a joint venture with GM. A blend of torrent, I dare not mention Equinox, with a touch of the SRX. She is about 35% japan parts, so the sticker says, so that makes me feel a bit better. I have had Suzukis since 2002. Not one major issue, ... Read More
Welcome to the family. I have purchase our own 2007 XL-7. We have been with Suzuki since 2002 when we purchase an 02 XL-7. I love them both. My 02 is ROCK solid. Regards, Kc5yti
This past weekend, I performed the first oil change on my 2005 XL-7. Compared to my 2002 XL-7 (on which I had performed 10+ oil changes), Suzuki has made some significant changes for access to the oil filter. First, air conditioner lines are now located in the area of the engine compartment where I used to be able to remove the oil filter, effectively preventing you from taking the oil filter ... I Purchased a 2002 Suzuki XL7 Limited edition six months ago, and I cannot be any more happier with it. I fell in love with it the first moment I saw it, it was gorgeous and fully equipped, and I also loved the price that the Suzuki dealer was offering me for it ($12,900), so I bought it instantly. I knew I could not find an suv at this price with ... Read More
Hello All - I've been away from this site for a while. Up until two weeks ago, I owned a 2002 XL-7 Touring which had 54K miles on it when I traded it in. Over my three + years of ownership, I did 14 oil changes on this vehicle, trying many different ways to "easily" change the oil filter. The best way I found was to slide an oil filter wrench ... This is not so much a question but a story about a small market share company (Suzuki)who acted like a major player. My wife and I purchased a 2002 Suzuki XL-7 in Nov. 2002. This past June, it went in for the 50,000km service. two days after, the motor developed a knock. We took it in to the dealer and the mechanic said he had only heard that noise once before. ... Looks like there is a "serious" recall for some 2002 and 2003 GV and XL-7s (also some of the other vehicles as well). Its an issue with two layers of paint not bonding, and the windshield being capable of coming out in some collisions. The fix sounds serious: they will either paint the vehicle, replace it, or buy it back and destroy it. Thats a little scary for owners, in my ... Read More

Hi all... I found some articles on this board that talked a little about what CD changer could be added to the XL-7 other than the one from Suzuki. I'm wondering if any other XL-7 owners have had this situation. This weekend, I began to hear considerable noise from the rear end every time the brakes were applied at low speed. Note that my XL-7 is a 2002 (don't ... Read More
I own a 2002 XL-7 Limited and my wife has a 2002 Honda CR-V. Both are great vehicles, and each serves a different niche. Finally took my XL-7 in to the dealer to have them diagnose a very quiet "gear noise" that I've been hearing since new. I had mentioned it to them once before (for my free 3K oil change), but I didn't have enough insight into the problem then, and they suggested that I wait to see if it was something that just went away upon futher breakin. Well, in short, it didn't. ... Read More

5 greyhounds There is a flap between the seats on the 2002. Yes, you are correct. It appears to be flat, but there is a slight incline. the 2002 shares nothing with the Civic. Engine, transmission and everything else. I considered the XL7 (the extra seats) but don't like the location of the gas tank , interior is cramped in any seat. New CRV 2.4 L probably accelerate faster than XL7 gets better gas milage. Resale vaule will probably double the Suzuki.
