Towing
We all know engineers underrate their tow ratings for vehicles. The reason Chev does is obvious as they want you to buy a bigger truck. Can't have a small Chevy truck pulling the same as a full size half ton P/U. Here's where the conspiracy theory comes in. I bet you seven ways to Sunday Chevy "CONVINCED" Suzuki to match their underated tow rating for the Grand Vitara. ... Read More...

Re: Suzuki Vitara 2003 [rh080550]
The brake fluid is low so when you turn it moves to the side in the fluid reservor opposite where the level sensor is and makes the light come on. Check the level, but just remember it is a closed system and you should never have to add fluid unless there is a leak somewhere. The fluid goes down as your brake pads wear but, never below the level that sets the sensor off. Read More...

Re: REPLY [nochevy]
It's a pity, but understandable why they took my previous post off the site. Here goes being civil. If, as you claim the Tracker is not as sturdy as the Suzuki product being built on the exact same assembly line. It would mean Suzuki and G.M would have to pay for another government U.S and Canadian certification. Do you have any idea how costly it is for a manufacturer ... Read More...

Another Happy Owner
We are pushing 5000 miles on our GV and very satified. We swapped in a 2003 4cyl Vitara and there is a world of difference in ride and handling. Our tires were also overinflated when received(48psi).Maybe the factory should check calibration on their gages. My only complaint is the MPG readout on the dash. What good is it? Talked to my sales rep yesterday and he told ... Read More...

you should probably wait for the Equinox to come out instead of buying the Tracker..surprising, the 2003 Tracker didn't receive the new interior that the Suzuki Grand Vitara and XL-7 got..hmm the Equinox will probably be a better overall value than the rapidly-aging Tracker, or you could wait the the Suzuki-version of the Equinox which comes out in 2005 as a ... SHOULD I BUY ONE?
Why not buy one? The Trackers and Sidekicks and later the Vitarra are all built by Suzuki and some of them in the joint GM -Suzuki plant in Canada. They have been around since 1989 and we have owned 6 or 7 of them between myself, my wife and son. The 4 door is very handy and a nice size and economical for this type vehicle. Forget what Consumers says as they have always been ... Read More...
to #443 from Tron
The reason I asked if there would be a change for the 2003 model year is the fact that I have a GM {5%} credit card that is accruing points more rapidly than I would like; so, I figured I would get another SUV type vehicle. I now own a 98 Kia Sportage EX and a 2001 Ford Escape XLT. I really like the Ford but the Kia is a little too rough riding for my taste {purchased same when ... Read More...
Suzuki Grand Vitara (2005 and earlier)
Good after 22,000 Miles.
My 2001 Grand Vitara still runs great after 22,000 miles in 8 months. It still has not received any other maintenance than its scheduled maintenance. The breaks and the front alignment are starting to need work. This shouldn't have happened until about 30,000 miles. Otherwise, the car feels solid. Since the GV is more car like than the Side Kick, I was afraid that ... Read More...
