Re: little or no heat!!! [troyan]
I had the same problem with my 2002 Suzuki Vitara, when I brought it to the mechanic he said it was a cable that came loose, he put it back in place and it worked immediately. It did manage to come off within a week of him fixing it. He put it back in place and my heat has been working like new ever since. I noticed that it was not working earlier this year. Read More...

Re: One year later..... [xostnot]
Hi again xostnot, nice to hear from you too. Unfortunately, I saw the current edition of Consumer Reports (auto issue), on the news stand today. I don't dare let pass from my finger tips here, what they said about the new GV's reliability rating, as obviously someone here would accuse me of making it all up. So not to offend anyone, let me just focus on what their data ... Read More...

Is the 2000 Susuki ok in 2007?
We are looking at a 2000 SUZUKI GRAND VITARA with about 65k miles asking $9k. It seems like there was alot of problems with that year yet the others rate really well. We are torn between it and a 2002 Jeep Liberty with 90k miles for the same price. The price alone makes me think there is a problem. Any advice? Thanks for your thoughts. :) Read More...
Re: 2002 Tracker 4wd automatic hubs will not engage [molly090406]
I was afraid you would ask that. Under Suzuki Vitara (2002) I found the category "Air Pump" but the description of the item that turned up was "VACUUM PUMP FOR 440". I was thinking you might search for front differential for your year and model and that would tell you if the yard had a vehicle. Then call and ask about the pump. They might not know the pump exists - I didn't, ... Read More...

Re: Front and Rear Axle Seal replacement [nodar]
I replaced the front brake pads on my 2002 Suzuki Vitara (JLX?) the other day and saw evidence of something slinging oil all around the right front fender well. I trace it to the right front axle seal on the front differential (is a 4WD). I have not had a chance to check the oil level in the front differential. Uh oh! How does an axle seal seize? Do you mean that it is frozen ... Read More...
Re: REPLY [nochevy]
The compnay I work for in New Jersey, has a sister plant in Ingersoll as well. Back in 2002 the area business's had tours of their facilities and then a goupr question and answer period over lunch. Anyway I was up there at the time CAMI was giving their tour and I went along and saw the entire operation. The Tracker and Vitara/Grand Vitara are the same vehicle, built ... Read More...

Re: Petrol (gas) for 1995 Suzuki vitara [samran]
There is commonly 2 methods used to compute octane rating in the USA. I am not that familiar with the formulas, but does Thailand use the same method? Most vehicles here run quite well on 87 octane, with the highest octane normally available at the pumps is 93 octane. 95 octane here would be very expensive and basically a waste of money. The higher the compression ... Read More...
Re: 2002 valve seal problem [razap]
Your sparkplugs could have well been fouled, but with carbon build-up, not oil. Especially if you do a lot of short trips or your sparkplugs were replaced with ones that run too cool. If your oil consumption is low, it's not your valve stern seals. Insert your prayer of thanks here. As for your last question, all Chevrolet Trackers are Suzuki Grand Vitaras' or Vitaras' ... Re: '99 chevy tracker time chain area noise [ali11]
If you look at the Suzuki Grand Vitara posts there was a problem with the timing chain tensioners from 1999-2002 approx. The fix is over $1000 at the dealer. Someone posted instructions and pictures of the problem and how to fix. I do not remember what post number it is. Read More...
