Suzuki SX4 Crossover

I have a 2009 SX4 Crossover with the Technology Package. I agree about the mileage. Around town, I usually get 21-22 mpg. On the highway, 25.5 is about the most that I've been able to squeeze out of my car. My understanding is that the cause of the low mileage is two-fold: The car is a bit heavy for a little car. I'm guessing that this is due to the four-wheel ... Read More

I just purchased a 2009 sx4 at a Ford dealer and was told that there was satellite radio in the car - and it said as much on the sticker - "Satellite Radio" - NOT "Satellite Radio Ready" - but when I tried to get it activated I was told by the XM Sirius people that I don't have the tuner and will have to buy one - either an external ... Three days ago, I traded my red 2009 SX4 AWD Touring automatic Crossover for the 2010 Suzuki Kizashi SLS AWD CVT/auto-manual in platinum silver. In the past, I was a consummate car snob, only wanting to drive European cars like Saab, VW, BMW, and MB. Seriously, no one has ever accused me of being a Suzuki apologist. Then, Kizashi converted me into a Suzuki believer. I love the Kizzy!!! I cannot ... Read More

Yes, even if it fits in the cradle, I believe your "T" model needs the FM traffic antennae, and the Suzuki only has the antennae built in for the MSN support (which blows, by the way, since MSN is going out of business after next year). I don't know if they changed that in the 2010 models to support both FM traffic and MSN, but that was not the case in ... Read More

Hi ... I'm not sure what you mean by "misleading", so I can't comment on that part of your question ... but, as far as slow startup, I would say that the one that came with my 2009 SX4 is definitely a slow startup. I have a nuvi 265WT in my other car, and the 760 in the Suzuki is way slower starting up than my 265WT. In fact, I've found ... Read More

  • Very Pleased w/my SX4 AWD Manual

    Written by: a_c on Feb 12, 2010 9:13:45 AM

Very pleased with my 2008 SX4 purchased summer 2008. It's fun to drive, steering very positive and the manual trans is very crisp to shift. The mileage isn't great but I new that when I bought the car. The AWD IS great. I have to go up a hill to get out of my neighborhood regardless of what street I use. When it snows here I always go up the steepest ... Read More

I purchased a new 2,000 diesel Jet. It was a nice car in many ways but was a maintenance hog. A replacement 2009 Jet wagon was $22,000 minimum for teh gas model and much more if you want more than just a diesel engine n seats it seemed. The VW dealer offered me a whopping $500 off sticker, Suzuki offered me almost $3,000. Any way Aug 21, 2009 I purchased a ... Read More

I've been approved for this vehicle even tho my credit is AWFUL, no one else will approve me but this dealership did, i'm wondering if it's a good move or if i should move on and look look for something different. ... My dear irate sir...try to calm down. When you bought the car, the expected mileage was printed in big numbers on the window sticker. The mileage is actually quite good for an AWD car...you will be hard pressed to find any other car with AWD and all the features this one has that gets better mileage. And if it was stellar mpg you wanted, why did you choose an SX4? The ... Read More

I bought a 2009 Suzuki SX4 Crossover Touring 3 weeks ago. I cannot recommend it to my worst enemy. The fuel economy is horrible. It has a very small gas tank...expect to refuel every 4-5 days. The airbag service light came on last week. It is in the shop now...getting a new passenger seat....this is supposed to fix the problem. However, other forums report that the problem continues long after the ... Read More

I have a 2009 SX4 Crossover, which came with a Garmin nuvi 760 ... but which has been customized for Suzuki. I actually already own a "real" Garmin nuvi that we've been using in our other vehicles, so the Suzuki customizations are fairly obvious to me. For the most part, they are welcome value-adds over a standard Garmin nuvi 760, with one very annoying exception ... and that is the mandatory ... Read More

We've been thinking about this vehicle for a couple of months and appreciate reading about owner experiences. We're also considering the 2010 Toyota Prius and 2010 Mazda 3 hatchback. We like the Suzuki's look, AWD capabilities and low price, but we have concerns about gas mileage (considering the small size of the SX4), and to some extent, the dealer network. Our Seattle-area dealer (actually way out in the 'burbs) seems to ... Read More

This past Sat. my wife and I bought a 2009 SX4 Crossover AWD manual transmission w/touring package. We paid $18700.00 out the door. Good buy? I don't know, but we sure are happy with the car. We drove it 80 miles one way home from the dealership after we took delivery Monday afternoon. After much research and trying out other vehicles, we decided that this Suzuki would perhaps be the best ... Read More

Actually a folding back seat is pretty much standard, not in danger of becoming a rarity. A no-folder is the exception, not the rule. It always garners comments from road testers, because utility and flexibility are attractive features. Once something has become common and expected, such as power windows, customers notice when it's not there. Same with folding seats. And of course, not everyone wants a wagon or a hatch. Me, ...
