Acceleration commentsNo traction control to deactivate. Good combo of power and grip makes launching the Equator easy. Brake-torquing doesn't help. Noticeable jump in power at 4,000 rpm.

Braking commentsExtremely soft, long-travel brake pedal. Feels effective for a few stops, even as distance expands, but ultimately goes to the floor without activating ABS.

Handling commentsLike most trucks, the Equator feels awkward driving in circles on pavement. It doesn't do anything unexpected or dangerous, but it's not rewarding or fun. Easy to control and sense its limits, which is good given its lack of any electronic safety measures. Still, this is a tall, soft truck that feels out of place during on-road, limit-driving exercises.
