2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek Premium 4dr SUV AWD (2.0L 4cyl CVT)
3 or 4 stars, but am giving it the benefit of the doubt. Only had it a couple weeks. The engine has plenty of zip. The CVT noise is only noticable if you floor it, which isn't needed to get quick acceloration.
Corners and holds the road really well. Getting 26 MPG all around which is low for my 40 mile RT city/hwy commute. I'll wait till it's broken to see if it gets the advertised 28 MPG all around. Styling inside and out is nice. Front seats are quite comfy. The
back seats not so much which accent the abrupt or jerky ride. That's my biggest issue.
Annoying even over modestly rough surfaces.
Rougher than most of the other small/ midsize SUV's I drove.
Subaru needs to work on this .
Overall value for the dollar. Heated seats. Mileage, if after break-in it gets advertised mileage. Good leg room and head room ,both front and back seats
Don't locate USD and audio plug in bottom rear of center compartment where dirt can clog them or something short out the USB. Move them higher up and to the front so stuff doesn't lay on them. Add a slide cover. Removeable liners for cup holders. Have 6" touch screen / radio with backup camera option on Premium instead of only offering it only as a small screen built into rearview mirror. Lower profile radio antenna that doesn't interfere with loading kayaks, SUP's & surfboards on crossbars
Better quality sound system. Overhead or dash stash compartment for glasses
Bought ours back in November.
Agree on most points made by riversnow; differ on a few.
At 3000 miles now,our
mileage remains less than expected so far.
Paddle shifters are a blast, though wife never uses, naturally.
Agree on USB/cupholders/radio..hastily brought to market. Otherwise, a very well-engineered
that performs incredibly well in all weather conditions, including a 40 mile trip thru an early season snowstorm around
Mt. Hood last December.
Rides comfortably on most surfaces; agree it can be a bit rough on some pot-holed secondary roads.
Read somewhere that gas mileage improves dramatically at 5000 miles; doubt it but hope springs eternal.
Overall much prefer driving this vehicle to our awd 2010 Honda CR-V EX-L. And yes, a little more power wouldn't hurt!
