I have the exact same problem. US Model 2008 Subaru Tribeca....

My dealer never has ANY in stock. He is the WRX/Forester/Outback dealer. The lesser Imprezas, the Legacys, the Tribeca, might as well not exist at all. This is true for all but the very biggest dealer...

is actually offered as an option in the 2010 Tribeca, and so your dealer may be installing the same or similar one....

My guess is it may be a stretched 7-passenger version, to replace the Tribeca. We'll know more in a few weeks. The show opens 10/15....
