Future of the Tribeca

  • Undecided

In exactly 3 months my 08 Limited lease is over. As I wont be needing the 3rd row anymore, or the luxuries (divorce, you know), I was thinking OB 3.6. But looked at subaru.com, and a base Tribeca, that has heated seats and wiper de-icer sells for less! I am sure when I say for less , that can be for way less, right now $1000 under invoice, and if I ... Read More

I suspect not, but if there is a new iteration, I think it needs to distinguish itself better from the rest of the lineup... such as becoming a Subaru version of the GMC Acadia, for example. Right now, it is largely a "why bother?" model; especially after the introduction of the 2010 Outback (although it is a much better styled car than the new Outback!).

Subaru has changed all nav systems to Garmin except the Tribeca. Not quite true. The 2011 Forester and Impreza (except WRX and STI) will offer a removable 4.3" TomTom unit as an option. The WRX, STI, Legacy, Outback and Tribeca use the same units from 2010. There's a pic of the TomTom unit in the link below, showing the Impreza interior. http://www.drive.subaru.com/Sum10/2011preview.htm It's also pictured in the 2011 Impreza brochure PDF ... Read More

I decided to purchase the 4.0 NAV DVDs for Subaru. But it looks like now I will be getting out of the Tribeca into a Toyota SUV. The 4.0 version was just released end of March 2010. So if anyone is looking for the latest NAV dvd I split them up on Ebay for EAST and WEST dvd. just do a search for Subaru Navigation DVD 4.0 and they should come ... Read More

I just purchased the new Version 5 in the hopes that it would overcome the flaws in the maps of earlier versions and the routing software algorithm. Unfortunately I can report that there is no discernible difference between the two versions where I live in NC. Therefore I assume that once again Subaru has simply done a POI update which costs almost $300. This same nav system is in the 2010 ... Read More

I have a 2009 Tribeca. It comes as Version 3 with 2 DVD's. The East is in the player. Both the East and the West have identical maps, but POI's differ for their respective coverage areas. The player is located under the seat and has a button for ejection on the unit. In general this is a poor GPS system compared to modern units like Garmin. It does not route to ... Read More

I like this: The backup camera is now offered as an option on non-navigation Limited & Touring models with a 3.5" display mounted on an auto-dimming rearview mirror. That's what Toyota does with the Highlander, though it's standard on Sport and above models. RAV4 is supposed to get that, too. I'd like to see that on the Forester, which has none available at all right now. HIDs are new also, I ... Read More

I like the 20" I use full Pirelli Scorpion Snow Tires for the winter on the Factory Rims. easy to jack up the SUV and swap tires each season :) wow 22" and you kept the same size tire overall diameter? so that would mean some really low sidewalls... nice thing about running 20" full summer tires is they get better gas mileage for me... less rolling resistance. I gain about ... Read More

hiya cluelesspa, yeah long time no see. I still have my 06 Tribeca. I actually scraped up one of my 20" black wheels so i decided to sell all 4 and the 20" Toyo tires i had on them. They were decent tires because they were all Season and still had an aggressive stylish tread which is rare for an all season as its usually only found in performance (summer tires) ... Read More
