Re: Passenger Seat Sensor [jdduncan]
I had that problem in my 2005 outback 2.5xt. It was related to the weight sensor embedded in the passenger seat. It thinks someone is seating there and should put their belt on. My wa sunder warranty so the dealer end up replacing the seat sensor. I wonder if the sensor can be disconnected underneath if there is no warranty coverage. If you have a turbo version beware ... Re: Single Tone Outbacks and Outback sports [simonster]
Yep, they have for a few years now. Actually, since 2005, I believe most are monotone, though two-tones are still offered. This page will tell you everything you want to know and more about the colors and other specs: http://www.cars101.com/subaru/outback/outback2009.html Read More...
Subaru Outback/Legacy Tires and Wheels
Re: Excessive tire wear on a 2005 Legacy Outback [snowbelter]
Aw, darn. I had a link to a site that listed all the Subaru TSBs, but it is no longer valid. Bummer, that. I worked long and hard to find the thing. It is ironic, to me, that Subaru would charge for TSB access when we already spent enough flippin' money on the cars in the first place! Read More...
Re: Excessive tire wear on a 2005 Legacy Outback [vdonovan]
Subaru issued a Technical Service Bulletin #05-36-07R in regards to their changing rear wheel alignment and increasing tire pressure because of uneven wear on rear tires when carrying a heavy load. When I load up my 07 OB I try to increase the pressure on the rear tires to the number indicated for pulling a trailer which also puts a load on your rear tires. I can't ... Read More...

Pet Barrier Question
Have a 2007 Subaru Outback -- will a 1999 Pet Barrier fit? I know a lot of the new stuff only goes back to 2005, but thought I'd ask before I drive a ways to pick this thing up. We don't have a sunroof and the '99 barrier was for no sunroof, so was just curious how they hook up and if it would fit. THX Read More...

RIP 2001 Subaru Outback
This forum was a huge help to me when I was car shopping in 2005. Read up on all the models and bought the 01 Outback. Over the years, it hauled my handicapped dad, his wheelchair, my arthritic German Shepherd, countless tents & Scouts and years of memories. On Monday I was in a 4 car pileup at rush hour. Front and back damage. Would be too much to fix, so at 101,097 miles, ... Read More...

Re: Yakima adapter to subaru rails? [ateixeira]
The Yakima adapter mount for some newer Subaru model rails is the Lowrider. Check the Yakima and Thule websites for options. For my 2005 Outback, the factory cross-bars hold 100 lbs total. I compared the Yakima and Thule adapter systems and looked them both up in the hardcopy books at REI. Yakima says the Lowrider + round bars still only holds 100 lbs total. Yet ... Read More...
