2000 Subaru Outback Limited 4dr Wagon AWD

Review

This has been a great car - yes "car". It rides like a car, handles like a car and for the 95% of average driving is exactly what you want. It does have enough clearance along with the AWD that you can get off the pavement. I've done this some but mainly just for camping not for some baja type adventure. That's the beauty for me - I'm not trapped by 4" of clearance but I don't want a fulltime SUV ride for those rare times.

Favorite Features

Wagon: With rear seats folded I can get a 4X8 sheet of plywood inside! It's also great for holding lots of camping gear. For a wagon, I think it's got decent styling.

Suggested Improvements

4 cylinder has plenty of pep (165HP) but when it's at highway speeds on cruise control - a small incline causes it to downshift two gears. A pleasant ride turns into a jet takeoff from a noise perspective.
