2008 Subaru Legacy

2008 Spec B report

Hi everyone, Edmunds forums have been a wealth of information for me over the years so I'd like to "give back" and provide a report on my Legacy Spec B. I purchased the vehicle in May 2008 and have approx 12,000 km, (6000 mi). Spec B are very expensive in Canada, ($45,000 Cdn). I did not intend on buying a Spec B but (due to the high Canadian $), Subaru was offering $7000 ... Read More...

Subaru Impreza Outback Sport & TS

Re: Can I put larger wheels on an Impreza sport? [rusoff]

Hey!. I have a 2008 Impreza Sport. I drove through the second half of last winter in Vermont with the original all-weather tires and it was just fine! I have a half mile driveway which is not well-plowed and did not get stuck once. It was also quite nice even on ice with extremely sensitive ABS. Although the ground clearance is not immense, it zooms through the snow. ... Read More...

Subaru Legacy Lease Questions

Re: 08/09 2.5i LIMITED residuals and MF? [1985mb]

Greetings 1985mb. Subaru's current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 24 month lease of a 2008 Legacy Limited 2.5i Sedan with 15,000 miles per year are .00120 and 62%, respectively. The numbers for an otherwise identical lease of a 2009 model are .00280 and 70%. I am not intimately familiar with what the market is like for the Legacy right now, ... Read More...

Re: Finance [oppamen]

When I was purchasing my Legacy a couple of weeks ago, I inquired as to how far out the 0% financing goes on the 2008. I was told it goes out only 24 months. Beyond that, it was 3.9% up to 60 or 72 months. I ended up buying a 2009 Legacy and financed through Subaru (JP Morgan Chase) for 4.9% for 72 months. Read More...

Finance

Whats the interest rate on 2008 Legacys right now? I went to Subarus website and it said 0% but didnt say if it was for 60 months or not. Tell me what you guys think if you think its stupid or not. I have 2008 i limited right now that I bought in December with 60 months 5.9% APR. I have around $15,500 right now to pay off. I want to get 2008 2.5 GT model. When I was in dealership ... 2009 Subaru Legacy

Re: Frameless windows [cd68]

It's a tough call. I was in the same boat as you about a month ago, then decided to get the 2009 Legacy 2.5i Limited. I considered waiting for 2010 and the remake, but friends and family alike cautioned me on being the first to own a brand new model year. My mother specifically recommended getting the 2009 since it's the last year for this build - so more or less they've ... Read More...

Subaru Legacy Lease Questions

Re: $215/ month $0 down Lease [ateixeira]

I'm not sure I understand the residual thing. I prefer to purchase/finance, and I did just that, but I'm open to other things in the future. What exactly is the 80% residual you're speaking of, and how does it benefit? Someone mentioned Honda using rear drum brakes in their relatively new cars - and mid-level cars too like the Accord & Civic. I've noticed that Honda's ... Read More...

2009 Subaru Legacy

Re: Looking at 09 (sorry about the prev. post) [altimate]

Here in Milwaukee, a couple of area Subaru dealers are advertising $179/month leases on the 2.5i SE w/manual transmission. The terms are 10K miles per year, 2 year term, and around $899-999 down depending on the dealership. I currently drive a 2002 Nissan Sentra GXE with about 76K miles. After this last winter, which really mangled the roads around here, my Sentra's ... Read More...

Subaru Crew Problems & Solutions

Re: A few issues [ateixeira]

I went to one of the two dealers within about 20 minutes of my condo. They both are basically offering us the same exact price, so I'm at the point where I'm just letting the two of them fight with each other. I haven't been back to either dealership, but every day I call the "other" dealer and get a little bit better of a price (not by much, we're talking $50 increments ... Read More...

Another question

Another question Subaru gurus. When does Subie typically introduce new models? I remember reading that the 2008 model Legacy/Outback started showing up at dealerships around the May timeframe. Is it expected that the 2009 models will show up around the same time this year? Any information on minor changes to the 2009 that would make it worth waiting for? Thanks. Read More...
