2005 Subaru Legacy Sedan 2.5 GT Limited AWD 4dr Sedan (2.5L 4cyl Turbo 5A)

Review

I have not had the car a long time, but it was a replacement for my 2003 Infiniti G35. The color is exactly the same - Garnet Fire Pearl and is a deal breaker for me. No red of distinct quality = no chance for a sale. The Legacy has 250hp compared with 260hp for the G35 sedan. The G35 has a more instant response, but the GT is every bit as fast once the turbo kicks in. The G35 became a rattle trap and had brake problems. I drove it 26K and had the front rotors turned twice and the rears once. The Legacy has the same outside road noise, but the interior is far quieter. I am trilled with my Legacy GT over my old G35. No regrets at all!

Best Features

Dynamite handling and performance character - from a former Infiniti G35 owner! Brakes feel great. Cornering set and tight yet soft and forgiving feeling. Refined interior free from rattles. Great looking wheels and exterior. Beautiful guages and red/white backlighting. AWD. It's a rocketship ride.

Worst Features

No NAV available. No right armrest without an $150 optional extender (get it -- you will miss it if you try it with one installed). Rear seat headroom tight for 6ft+ people. Bass woofer optional (stereo can use it). Would like more services, longer term warranty at this price point ($30K+).

2005 Subaru Legacy Sedan 2.5 GT AWD 4dr Sedan (2.5L 4cyl Turbo 5A)

Review

I have had my Subaru Legacy GT sedan for about a month now and am extremely impressed with the car. The turbo kicks in at about 3000 rpm and launches the car like a rocket. I am also enjoying the handling of the all wheel drive and suspension system. I would highly recomend this car to those who are in love with sports cars, but need something more practical. This car will give you everything you want.

Best Features

Momo brand steering wheel, turbo boxer engine, heated seats, spacious interior.

Worst Features

More interior color options and XM radio.

Review

This vehicle handles like a dream. As a 4 cylinder you would never know it by the quick aeceleration. The leather interior and climate control make it a very comfortable ride. This is one vehicle that begs to be driven.

Best Features

The best features on this vehicle have to be the instrument brightness button, two controls for the sun/moon roof, sports shift, and the 6 CD changer in the dash.

Worst Features

Beef this sedan up to the same 300 HP you find in the STI. Place audio controls on the back of the steering wheel. Add auto door locks at 15 MPH.

2005 Subaru Legacy Sedan 2.5 GT AWD 4dr Sedan (2.5L 4cyl Turbo 5M)

Review

Thrilled with my GT-- fast, nimble, stable, smooth, comfortable, quiet, reliable, and practical. What more could you possibly want from a $25K sport sedan? Maybe a German badge?

Best Features

Speed and handling.

Worst Features

More speed and better handling.

Review

As always, the NA market doesn't get the best. Everywhere in the world except North America they get the original Legacy, which has HIDs, DVD, GPS, navigation, better tires and windshield wipers, more toys, better looking front and rear bumpers, as well as many others. On the other hand, since many Americans think bigger is better, we get bigger engine (but not more horsepower) and bumpers (the original smaller ones look 10 times better). And since typical Americans are not willing to pay "too much" for a "Subaru," the Legacy comes standard with poor all-season tires that don't perform well in almost any situation, especially in snow and rain.

Best Features

Power, AWD.

Worst Features

Tires, windshield wipers, bumpers.
