My first car

I bought this car in May of this year and I already love it. I figured I would end up regretting it when all my friends have trucks and they went out into the wood wheeling, but I don't because I can get that car places they cant get their trucks. And the shame in their faces when my Subaru has to pull there Chevy 1500 with a 383 stroker out of a ditch is the best thing ever. This car surprises me everyday with the things it will do. This is the fastest quickest best sounding simple stock 4cyl I have seen. The only things I have done to it are eliminate one of the cats and put a glass pack on it to give it that Subaru boxer sound. The awd is amazing, I lovethis car.
Favorite Features
AWD is amazing, it's like glue. I have had this car completely sideways on dirt at 60 and I just counter steered and gave her a little gas and she came right back.
Suggested Improvements
The cup holders stink. Need to be next to the E-brake or something like that.

I bought my Subaru back in April with near 140k on it. I was very skeptical about this, but then I started to look at these reviews and realized that these are one of the best cars out there! It has never given me trouble and now it has 148k miles on it. Very happy with this car, would most definitely buy another.
Favorite Features
Awesome radio quality, nimble handling
Suggested Improvements
Needs better placement of the cup holder, instead right above the radio, it could damage it. Engine could use a little bit more power for today's drivers.

I was handed down my '95 Subaru Wagon from my father. The Suby' currently has 231,000 miles on the odometer at the moment and has been virtually problem free. Great in snow, just push the gas and it takes off with no tire slippage. My tranny thunks a little bit sometimes when it kicks into second gear, but with this many miles on the car, it's understandable. I keep up with its regularly scheduled oil changes, and have even gone over a few 1000 miles before. The Subaru continues to run smoothly and efficiently. Just had some maintenance work done to her in order to pass my state inspection. My mechanic said the car looks excellent underneath and I should hold onto it. I plan on it.
Favorite Features
AWD, power windows, power locks, headlights that turn off when I shut the car off, ample trunk space, plenty of passenger room, great ride height (especially in winter driving conditions). I can't say enough good things about this car.
Suggested Improvements
Placement of cup holder blocks stereo when pulled out and gets in the way. Gas mileage isn't always great, but is acceptable. Other than that, it's great.
So long my Subaru

I just had an accident with my 95, and the insurance company has chosen to total it, but I will really miss it, and look forward to my next Subaru. With 124,000 miles, it still got 28-30 mpg on the highway, could hold an amazing amount of cargo, and was great in the snow. Sure, it leaked a little oil like most old Subies, but not enough to have to add any. Had some wind noise around the driver's door, and no mechanic could ever figure out the vibration that happened between 60 & 80 mph, but nothing that made me regret buying it. It's a great practical car.
Favorite Features
Lots of cargo room, moonroof
Suggested Improvements
Cup holder is in an awkward position.
Expensive fixes!

It is a great car, but stay away from anything from the mid-west or north-east. The fuel filler neck will rot away, the tank will leak (which requires the disassembly of the whole back end to remove and replace) Stay away from automatics not reliable . The doors will rot away with the brake lines. The exhaust system is among the most costly to replace of any mass-produced vehicle(2 catalytic converters a mid-pipe resonator, and an expensive muffler. Seals and timing belt, etc. is a must after 100,000. Stay away from the 2.5 unless it already had the head gasket replaced.Th The 2.2 is the champ. I have put over $4000 in this vehicle since i bought it last year. Not an economy fix

I live in Park City Utah, and drive this up mountains daily. It rules. Kick sideways, recover, down-shift, weeeeee.
Suggested Improvements
Undercoat it. Make sure all tires are the same tread, and the pressure is the same, or you could end up replacing the transfer clutch. If you test drive one turn the wheel all the way and drive in circles left and right. If you feel binding, screeching, sketchiness, etc. walk away.
