Review

This has to be the fastest and most fun car Ive ever driven or owned. In the summer it's like the car is stuck to the pavement like a magnet. In the winter it is even more fun, with 300 horses and full time awd you wish there were more turns and more snow.

Absolute excellent brake, throttle and steering feel.

Suggested Improvements

The STi has almost everything already.

It Could Use Some Things.

Review

This car is exceptional in the snow. I live in a very hilly area and had no problems navigating the icy roads. The car is extremely quick with a quarter mile of 12.4 seconds. I love to drive it all the time. Even though the gas mileage stinks its still great to drive and I don't mind spending the extra cash for gas. I love this car and will never buy anything else.

Favorite Features

Spacious lighted glovebox, clear windows, orange calipers, blue and black interior, center console, shift knob, A/C.

Suggested Improvements

Take the 300 Hp down to 170 for better fuel economy, replace the gigantic wing with something much smaller and cute, remove the hood scoop completely it makes the car look like a space ship, replace the rims with hubcaps because they are less likely to get stolen, make the clock bigger.

Review

The car is fabulous. It is the best bad weather car I have ever driven. It is very stable in the rain and snow. It does require snow tires for snow use, as the OE summer tires have no snow tread. The performance of the car is great. It responds to inputs similar to a racecar. The tires, suspension, and steering have little compliance, which makes it so responsive. The engine has plenty of low end torque and good top end power. I was surprised at just how much better the engine and handling is compared to the standard WRX. The engine alone is probably worth the price difference, and the handling makes it even better yet. Its handling is close to neutral, and the steering responds to throttle.

Favorite Features

Engine, suspension, driver controlled center differential, tires, short throw shifter, steering wheel, seats, alcantera seat cloth, automatic climate control, in-dash 6 cd changer and sound system, sizable trunk, adjustable audible RPM alert, 4 doors, brakes.

Suggested Improvements

Semi-automatic gearbox, which is a manual transmission with an automatic clutch, like the ones that are optional on the BMW M3 and the Toyota MR2,

Review

I went from a 2003 Jeep Wrangler V6 with 6 inches of lift ... got tired of it (gas mileage and speed). I wanted another fun car to replace it. Needed AWD and wanted a turbo. STI is the perfect choice. Total sleeper too, everyone that is ignorant totally underestimates the sickly speed and acceleration. All cars should bow down to the STI ( I hate the import craze, that is, taking a cheap car and investing money into it that you will never recoup. This car is FAST stock and you don't need to add stupid aftermarket stuff).

Favorite Features

Of course the 300 HP, brakes, 6 speed, blue on gold rims (HOT), AWD, FAST 4-door car.

Suggested Improvements

Optional tires (all weather tires). Smaller wing (spoiler). Of course, more HP.

Review

The car has been great. My only negative is the OEM tires. The tires have not held up as well as I would have hoped for. I can only go on them for another 5000 miles before I will have to purchase new ones. Besides that the car is a great time. It will toss you back in your seat under hard acceleration and stops on a dime. Overall the car is amazing!

300 bhp, aggressive body style.

Better tire selection.

M3? why?

Three months ago, on my way to BMW dealer to trade in my mint '93 Supra Twin Turbo for an M3, I had a kid in some big winged creature badged STi. Yes, it was faster than my stock Supra, and I had the embarrassing pleasure to see the rear badge. I took an early exit ramp to the Subaru dealer, drove the STi, wiped the drool off of my face at the signing table, and bought it. 3 months later, I still drool after I drive it to and back from work. Let's see (comparing M3); 4 doors to 2. All wheel drive to rear wheel drive. (I live where it snows), handles almost as good and wait, $30,000 less? Bottom line: I bought a faster, more fun, more practical car and i didn't have to trade in the Supra.

Favorite Features

Rev up the motor to 6000 RPM and drop the clutch. This is what taking off of a USS Enterprise in an F-14 Tomcat must feel like.

Suggested Improvements

Make the rear wing smaller, or bigger, like the Supra, so i won't have to see it in my rear view mirror.

Review

Love this car to death! It's very very fast, reliable, good looking and fun to drive. It's worth the money, 100%. I get so many other people waving at me and giving me a "thumbs up" when I drive by that I feel like I'm a celebrity. Flat out best car on the market, bar none. Porsche-like speed with 4 doors, rail like handling ... you just can't beat it.

Favorite Features

Love the intercooler sprayer and manual differential controller.

Suggested Improvements

At least throw in some STI logo'd floor mats.

Fast and FUN

I am a 22 year old male that loves this car. In February i picked up an '05 Sentra Spec V and that was fun ... for the first month. Then I wanted a turbo so I started looking and wasn't sure if I wanted a EVO MR or the STi. Glad I picked the STi; I have no regrets.

6 speed, 300 horse, BRAKES!

Suggested Improvements

LOL, MORE POWER. Doubt they will put more power but I already have added a couple things. I have about 380HP now looking to go to the 450 range!

This is the Charles Atlas of Automobiles There are few automobiles that can outperform this small car. And I have as yet to find one. Everyone should try this one before they spend more money for a name.

I honestly cant think of any and this is after 50 years of driving cars. OK, more horsepower -- once you drive it, it makes you a power junkie.

Review

I love this car! I own a little '92 Honda Civic HB and I tell myself that I'm going to drive the Civic to work for commuting but I can't resist driving the WRX because it's so much fun. If you like fast cars like me you'll love this car. Before making any judgments on this car I suggest you go to your nearest Subaru dealership to test drive it to see for yourself. After that the price doesn't seem so bad.

Favorite Features

The fact that its all wheel drive, 300hp & 300ft.lbs torque says it all!

Suggested Improvements

The suspension is kind of rough and there's some understeer.
