the car stops and turns better than the Impreza. That it will, because it is the tires that make all the difference in those situations. Even with the crappy tires, though, the Impreza will still "out-go" the Xb, which is a great testament to the quality of the AWD. Frankly, I would much sooner buy good winter tires for "metro" driving than for mountain driving because there are far more stops ... Read More
Sure, marketing can convince people that they need a mediocre product. Example: pet rock.
Marketing? I agreed, the typical consumer has no idea. I did a lot of research on this vehicle but didn't check the tires. Can I get a second set of tires and spend another $500? I shouldn't. I live in a metro area not the mountains. A part time AWD like the CRV/Element or a 2011 Hyundai Tucson handle better. I know they are diff cars but my point is, since ... Read More

What really blows me away is that they are, as the OP mentioned, a very expensive tire off-the-shelf. I wouldn't pay $50 per tire for them, let alone over $200!
All OEM tires are a compromise in cost, noise, ride, etc. The Blotzena RE92 are especially poor, though. I replaced them a bit early on our Legacy.
I absolutely agree - those RE92A are pathetic tire (I don't even hold a very high regard for them during the summer months) that they have used on the Impreza and Outback/Legacy for years. I think they started putting a different tire on the O/L with the 2010 model year, but before that it was RE92A for a long while. I *HATE* those tires. They literally hobble a fantastic car in ... I've had both on my Subaru's and really don't notice a difference with driving, gas mileage etc. I know that alloy's look better, they're supposed to help dissipate heat, a bit lighter in weight. just got a used 2010 subaru impreza 2.5i premium w/ all weather package for 19.6K out the door. hopefully that's a good enough deal... the car only had 10K miles on it... so still fairly new. bought it from van bortel subaru.
Yes, the best bet is to look on tirerack.com and see what tires are recommended. They will show the proper weight carrying and speed rating for your car. -mike Subaru Guru and Track Instructor
Hi denwhat. I've seen Subaru's lease program for the 2011 Legacy and Outback, but I haven't seen it for the 2011 Impreza yet. I'll make some calls and see if I can find anything out for you. Car_man Host Prices Paid: Buying & Leasing Experiences Forum

i am looking for an impreza outback sport 2010 or 2009 where did you get that price i live in nothern cali. thanks for sharing :)
Our 2010 Impreza is doing the same exact thing. Made a recording of it for our records. Dealer verified noise on one service call, but now they say they can't replicate it (what a surprise). Subaru won't do anything about it and told us they have never heard of this problem before. A cursory search of the internet proved that statement wrong. Did you ever get your problem resolved? Dude, which dealer did you get ur car? I am in NJ too and looking for a 2.5i Premium 5dr. Please give me the dealer info. Thanks, man!
Here's a bunch of pics (hard to find non-WRX Imprezas!): http://www.cars101.com/subaru/impreza/impreza2010photos2.html Doesn't look like the flares that used to come on the Forester, hmm. Is that just a flush material that goes over the sheetmetal, then painted? It barely stands out.
CAn't figure out how to embed pix- however if you look at subaru.com- same molding as on the impreza outback sport but same color as car RT
hi, 2010 impreza, brand new. Want to get Sirius installed- dealer says they need to install to maintain warranty, 3rd party installer says no- Of course my warranty book didn't come with car Sirius components will be genuine subaru parts Thoughts RT
I just read the Chevy Cruze will start at $17 grand, so heck yeah, an AWD Impreza for a little more sounds good.
First, the base MSRP on the 2.5i sedan with no options is $19,190 including destination charge. Invoice on that same car, also including destination, is $18,346. Any incentives or rebates from the manufacturer should be taken off of the invoice price, bringing your price to $17,346 after the $1000 incentive. So, tack on any taxes and fees on top of that. It sounds like $17,500 is a decent price depending on ... Read More
The invoice is $18,143, with about $18,500 as the average price. There's maybe $800 profit for the dealer in the car before holdback, so $17500 with tax and delivery(if that really is a true out the door price) is pretty good.
congrats on the purchase. i am also in the market for an impreza. i just looked at a base2.5i (auto) and the dealer told me invoice price is $18, 400 with my VIP program. They will also take off $1,000 incentive. The price will come out to around $17,500 including taxes, tags and delivery. Is this a good deal? the MSRP here at edmunds is $18, 495. I'm confused.
Sounds like you got a great deal. I am currently shopping for an Impreza 2.5i Premium in NJ so may I ask where you got yours? I'm torn between leasing and buying and acting now or holding out for the 2011 which I hear will be available in June/July. Congratulations and good luck with your new car.
You newer know, that dealer may have added some hidden documentation or processing fee to get that $475 back. Congrats. Seems like we have a lot of new Impreza owners, so congrats to all of you.
I picked up the SE hatchback on 4/30 in satin white. Whats funny is I had 3 appointments on that day. I bought from the first dealer I went to as they had the color I wanted. I like the armrest extension and the bumper cover, those things will come in handy and make the ownership experience better. I also think the AWP and moonroof will do the same for the SE. I investigated the differences between the 2010 Subaru Outback Sport and the 2010 Subaru Impreza hatchback. I found that the suspensions are exactly the same. Hi everyone. I just bought my first Subaru and I'm loving it. I went in thinking it was going to be the 2010 Forester but, after test driving it, I wasn't convinced. Don't let the number of gears fool you, our 4 speed Forester is geared a LOT taller than my 6 speed Miata. I followed my wife once and my Miata was screaming at high rpm while she chugged along quietly. Though I have a very tall-geared Toyota Sienna, so the Subaru falls between those two. Most of the 6 to 8 speed autos are very closely geared, so they aren't necessarily ... Read More
