Re: PS [ateixeira]
I think the NA Coopers run regular unleaded now, don't they? It's just the turbos that run premium? I could be wrong, but something in the back of my mind is telling me that. :-P The 2.0 in the Mazda3 doesn't really "sip" gas. My sister has one (a sedan of course) and only pulls high 20s, which is where I am at with the OBS with a LOT more torque and another half liter of displacement. ... Read More...

Re: New 2008 2.5i sedan w/ premium package + sport grill [ateixeira]
Actually.... they tried to rob me, after asking repeatedly is that for the premium package.... yes.... Well they were going to transfer the car for me (i wanted black interior) sooooo they said what city they were going to get it from, I got online and that dealer they were going to didn't have a premium 5dr black interior in stock. only base models, I called my dealer ... Re: MT or AT [spagball]
I'm surprised with the poor sales on the AT WRX. I am not surprised at all. Subaru deliberately crippled the AT version, with a 4-speed AT, when even $13K Honda Fits have been appearing for several years with a 5-speed AT. On top of that, from the 2008 model year, they quietly removed the VTD Differentials (Center differential with planetary gears that split power ... Read More...

Leased car, would like to "trade-up"
I've leased a 2006 Subaru Impreza 2.5i (manual shift) and would like to "trade-up" to a Legacy (Automatic) at the same dealership. I talked to the dealership and he told me they can't do a trade, but they can give me a trade-in value (appraise the car) for my leased car and then lease me another car (meaning that they're 2 separate transactions). I've searched on ... Read More...

RE: Switching from a leased Impreza to a leased Impreza WRX
Hi Car_man, A couple more things, sorry for bugging you: on my current lease I got a 2.9% APR (through Subaru Finance, May 2006) and a bad residual value (aprox 47%). I see that the APR you quoted for the WRX for April 2007 (right now) is significantly worse, i.e. 5.9%, but in the same time the residual value is way better, i.e. 56%. So... (A) Do I stand any chance of "keeping" ... Read More...

Re: BMW [ateixeira]
Zap re-did the WRX for 2006 and sales went up, yet he still got canned. They needed a scapegoat. It was a shame that the Aero-grill theme of the 06/07 Impreza did not get adopted across the line. Subaru got a lot of flak for the horrible "aero-grill" version in the Tribeca (which had other design flaws including a rear which looked rear-ended) and turned a complete ... Read More...
Re: 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX Second Opinion [rsholland]
You seem to think your opinion is of more value than others here simply because you're putting money where your mouth is—as you've told us a bunch of times. I can't think of anything more arrogant! Really Bob, well you should look back at what you said previously about Subaru wanting to sell more cars then. After all you and others have pointed out more than a few times ... Read More...
Re: 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX Second Opinion [aaykay]
I drove a stock 2006 WRX before I submitted my final piece. Perhaps you should read what I posted in the link I provided earlier. As far as I know, the handling and interior of the 2006-2007 WRX is the same as the 2005 WRX. The 2005 WRX is pretty much the same as the 2002-2004 WRX save for the updated interior. Read More...
Re: 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX Second Opinion [SubyTrojan]
You keep mentioning stock 2002-2007 WRX. I think you need to separate out the stock 2002-2005 from the stock 2006-2007, since the 2.5L engine makes a WORLD of difference. Bottomline, the power/torque comes on slightly sooner in the new model but fades away quicker than the 2006-2007 model, which accounts for the slower quarter mile and identical 0-60 (when ...
