2006 Subaru STI vs. 2006 Infiniti G35 coupe

Re: 2006 Subaru STI vs. 2006 Infiniti G35 coupe [ateixeira]

My mom loves her Forester. But yeah, it's just a bit underpowered anywhere above city speeds. I think whenever I drove it, I found myself thinking "I love this vehicle. I just want more power and a less elevated stance." Which seemed to equate to "something from the Impreza line." But somewhere along the line I went crazy and bought a sports car. Read More...

Re: 2006 Subaru STI vs. 2006 Infiniti G35 coupe [jccai1]

Interesting. I wonder how much difference the manual transmission/sport suspension would make in your case. Given that the G35 has a bigger (and much more powerful) version of the same engine my Maxima had, I'd expect it to feel a lot faster. Actually the G35 I test drove felt pretty damn quick and light on its feet. But it was the coupe, which is pretty different ... Read More...

Re: 2006 Subaru STI vs. 2006 Infiniti G35 coupe [rsholland]

Indeed ... I think I just underestimated my threshold for the crudeness of the machine. Although like I said, if it weren't for the unanticipated issues (squeaks/rattles, fluctuating climate control, weak sound system, and my own difficulty with mastering this particular clutch), I'd probably be somewhat happier. You're right, the Legacy GT (or even Mazdaspeed ... Read More...

Subaru Impreza Interior & Passenger Comfort Concerns

Subaru auto climate control weirdness (STI and maybe others)

Hi all. This is my first time starting a discussion here so I hope I'm doing this right. I recently bought a 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX STI, and I have a question about the automatic climate control system. When operating the air conditioner, it doesn't seem to settle on a comfortable "moderate" temperature; instead, it turns the compressor on and off repeatedly, ... Read More...

Re: 2006 Subaru Impreza 2.5i [zootedmalish]

As far as putting a carbon hood w/ or w/out scoop for the 06 you pretty much have to go through the dealer. All the hinges and fitting is identical but there isn’t any aftermarket hoods built for the 06 model that I have found. I have done quite a bit of research because Im going to do the same thing to mine. The dealership quoted me about 500 for the hood w/ indent for scoop ... Read More...

Re: 2006 Subaru Impreza 2.5i [bdenton]

Ok my next question would be if I didn't install a turbo for a while due to lack of cash due to college, would installing a exhuast for a turboed car do any harm or would it just not work to its full potential. Sooner or later I will install a aftermarket turbo into it but I want to put a nice exhuast, air intake, headers, etc. Any advice on what company will give me the most ... Read More...
