A much better choice for a daily
driver than the Evo. The 2.5L
powerplant was an excellent choice.
Excellent buildy quality and looks.
Gold rims are catchy, especially with
my metallic black paint with golden
fleck, matches perfectly. Looks xtra
sharp. Only complaints, tight back
seat, little sloppy feel on the tranny.

This is the best car that I have ever
purchased. The handeling in the car is
great and hugs the road on curves. The
auto trans is better then expected.
Ya, there is some power loss, but none
that you could tell. With just a
slight press on the gas petal... you're
off. I'm glad the fixed the design
from the bug eyed modle from before.
Also, I was waiting for the moonroof
and it is finally avalible in the 04.
Don't pass one of these up!

Incredibly fast with great handling,
though road grip is best during
acceleration-- it diminishes when
easing off the gas. Still, the car
easily takes ramps or highway curves 25
MPH above signs. Very limited body
roll. No tire screech with the
stock "summer" tires and AWD. Torque
is fair at 1500 (5th gear is possible
at 20 MPH). Impressive torque above
2500. Seats are a bit hard for long
rides (1 hour +). The suspension is
very stiff-- moves over rolling roads
(barely noticeable bounce) but absorbs
potholes / rough pavement very little
(even small ones are obvious). The
inside comfort is limited-- but then
this is a rally car.

This car can embarass muscle cars
especially in the corners where it
counts. Superb engine, no real turbo
lag unlike my previous WRX.This is
thanks to the bigger displacement and
valve timing. All wheel drive is great
although I have reservations as to how
necessary the DCCD is. Also the
suretrack front diff seems to enhance
understeer not reduce it and makes a
grinding noise when it is working as it
is mechanincal as opposed to viscous.

pulls hard with very little throttle,
in any gear, at any revs above 2000rpm.
Very sharp steering and handling. Grip
is solid, but tires need to get more
miles before I know exactly how much...

If you're looking for a no compromise
performance car and can't yet afford a
911 turbo than the STi is worth a look.
The STi is total function over fanfare
and one spin through your favorite
twisty road will prove it to you. Power
is stout over 3,500RPM handling is
crisp after you get a proper wheel
alignment and the tires are as close to
race rubber you can get for street use.
The boxer engine makes a sweet exhaust
note and the styling turns heads. I
have never seen so many thumbs up while
driving a showroom stock car.

After driving the car for a few days,
I can honestly tell you that there's
not another car in the world like the
STi. With no turbo lag, the car
pushes you back into your seat even
when starting from a dead stop! The
car is great on the inside and out and
is packed with gadgets and goodies for
all kinds of people. Unfortunately,
you'll be lucky to get 270 miles to
the tank. All in all, this car is
perfect for anyone who loves to drive
and doesn't mind spending the extra
time and money for upkeep.
