Vehicle2011 Subaru Forester 2.5X 4dr SUV AWD (2.5L 4cyl 4A)
ReviewGranted I have the basic plain jane model, but I am not impressed with the design and would not purchase another Subaru based off this car.
The main complaint I have is the heater, there does not seem to be much warm air when put in the feet/defrost setting and when you put in feet only you get more heat coming out of the vents facing the side windows then anything.
As far as I can tell there are not heat vents in the back seat and I can not seem to get the car warm.
Don't even want to get started on the sterero...or the middle console.
Very dissapointed with this purchase and am upset with myself that I did not take more time when making this purchase. Should have gotten more for $23200
Best FeaturesI would have to say that it is good on gas and drives well in the ice/snow conditions.
Worst FeaturesThe stereo, the heater, rear heat vents, cup holders, rear cup holders, the middle console needs to be completly redesigned. Not sure why anywone would want to have all those removable pieces.

The center dash vents are only open when you have the mode set for dash air, either alone or mixed with floor vents, but the dash vents on the sides, can be OPENED or CLOSED . Have you paid attention to the "open/close" setting adjustment [the little 'wheels' next to the vents]? If you shut them down (open UP, shut DOWN) the side air flow will be completely directed to either the floor or the defrost, whichever you have it set for. If the air-flow setting is set to recirculate rather than fresh air it will also give you maximum heat, or air conditioning, whichever you have it set for.Report it

First of all, NEVER buy the base models!!! They're for cheap people and you get EXACTLY what you paid for. Spend a few grands more next time and get an upgraded version and feel the difference. As to the heat in the vents next to side windows... you hit defrost, didn't you? Side window vents are partially used to defrost side windows, so don't be surprised to see that when you push the defrost button. Another thing I recommend is to get a remote start. With a push of a button from your office or home, you start the car remotely, so it'll warm up whilst you dress up and walk to the car.Report it

Didn't you evaluate these things during the test drive? Also, if you paid that much for a base model, I hope you're including taxes/fees. That prices is WAY too high.Report it
