Didn't you evaluate these things during the test drive? Also, if you paid that much for a base model, I hope you're including taxes/fees. That prices is WAY too high.Report it
The center dash vents are only open when you have the mode set for dash air, either alone or mixed with floor vents, but the dash vents on the sides, can be OPENED or CLOSED . Have you paid attention to the "open/close" setting adjustment [the little 'wheels' next to the vents]? If you shut them down (open UP, shut DOWN) the side air flow will be completely directed to either the floor or the defrost, whichever you have it set for. If the air-flow setting is set to recirculate rather than fresh air it will also give you maximum heat, or air conditioning, whichever you have it set for.Report it
First of all, NEVER buy the base models!!! They're for cheap people and you get EXACTLY what you paid for. Spend a few grands more next time and get an upgraded version and feel the difference. As to the heat in the vents next to side windows... you hit defrost, didn't you? Side window vents are partially used to defrost side windows, so don't be surprised to see that when you push the defrost button. Another thing I recommend is to get a remote start. With a push of a button from your office or home, you start the car remotely, so it'll warm up whilst you dress up and walk to the car.Report it
