Hey jing, you still looking? Before you go to stamford, don't count out branford and Premier Subaru! Premier is a great dealership and it's where I bought my 2009 Forester. I mean I use to tuck ... Read More...
Re: 2009/2010 Forester 2.5 with manual trans RPMs [hrs3]
You'll find all the gear ratios here: http://www.cars101.com/subaru/forester/forester2010.html The XT is geared tallest. It has the taller final drive ratio of the 2.5x manual, combined with the tallest overdrive gear of the 2.5 automatic. If you want UBER-tall gearing get an Outback CVT. At 80mph it's barely idling along at a hair over 2000rpm. Read More...
Subaru Forester VS Toyota RAV4
Re: Subaru Forester VS Toyota RAV4 [luv2golf]
Each has its pros and cons. For reference, we own a 2009 Forester 2.5X Limited with the PZEV 175hp engine, and also a 2007 Sienna with the 2GR-FE V6 engine that goes in the RAV4. Are you shopping the base engines, or V6 vs. turbo? The Forester is efficient and very easy to drive. Considering it's shorter than a Chevy Cobalt coupe, you get tons of room. The seat backs ... Mitsubishi Outlander vs. Subaru Forester
Re: 2010 vs. 2009 [ateixeira]
>> how you were driving around with 4 year old maps, and you were OK with that? Why would I care? I have never ran into a new road. Outlander uses Navteq maps the same map vendor as most of manufacturers: acura, audi, benz, bmw, caddi, LR, jag, infi, mazd, niss, vw, volvo and more. And they all get updates at the same time. I dont think its 4 years. The current version ... Read More...
Re: Outlander vs. aftermarket accessories [ateixeira]
>>I see, things only matter when Mitsubishi has the edge. When you think Forester has an edge you talk about it. But when you see there no edge you talk about aftermarket accessories. There is really no edge except for large sun roof, which by the way eliminates that good roof safety test. . >> Safety means nothing to you now? It did a day or two ago. You r talking about ... Re: Do It Yourself [chelentano]
Yea, sure, I know Admit it, you did not know about Subaru's diesel engine. Otherwise why did you mention it on your list of things Subaru doesn't offer that Mitsubishi does? Have you ever thought why Lexus and Benz dont use your the real thing in their luxury SUVs? Because those aren't the sportier manufacturers in that segment. BMW offers a true manual in the ... Re: Do It Yourself [chelentano]
Global car sales are down for everyone, Subaru's drop is less than most, and your data is already outdated (more on that later). Plus, the topic here is the Forester, which is doing great. Vehicles like the Tribeca, with a too-small 3rd row and no side curtain air bags to protect those occupants (sound familiar?), have caused the overall drop for Subaru, not the ... Read More...
Re: Do It Yourself [ateixeira]
>> The rest of your post waters things down by comparing Mitsu corporate to FHI. Subaru of America, where both of us live, is on a huge roll... 'Subaru of America' does not build cars. Its just a marketing office and sales numbers by local market/season may be misleading for the company health. The fact is that worldwide Fuji / Subaru sales decline every year: from ... Read More...
Re: Chase Freedom Rewards [chelentano]
Dual-Clutch auto-manual True, but it's a shame the dual-clutch SST transmission didn't make it to the US-spec Outlander GT, though. Keep in mind that vehicle starts at $31 grand, and that's with cloth and no Navi. Plus - Mitsu said it was coming. may be it's not in the top 2 anymore, but top 3 or 5 Actually no, it did not make the top 6 in its class. The rest of your post ... Read More...
Re: Chase Freedom Rewards [ateixeira]
>> Mitsu got their CVT first, kudos, Subaru's is due out soon. Soon! Who cares for CVT? This is old tech for cheap cars. Mitsu has been already selling cars with modern smooth 6-speed auto, and Dual-Clutch auto-manual, paddle shifters and neutral logic. . >> But keep in mind our tried-and-true Forester is on CR's most reliable list, and Mitsubishi, while deserving ...
