Re: Torn between a 2006 Aveo and 2006 Toyota Scion XA [poncho167]
GM is not an American owned company - it's an international company with brands Holden, Daewoo, Opel, Vauxhall GMDAT, PACAT and others. Profit will go back to all of GM not just GM of USA with the majority of the profits going back to GMDAT in Korea and PACAT in China. Read More...
Re: Torn between a 2006 Aveo and 2006 Toyota Scion XA [richard1haines]
"Buying a 2006 or 2007 Aveo doesn't support an American company at all." How do you figure that. GM is an American company and they own the majority of Daewoo. So any Aveo sold is more money for them. Any Aveo sold in the U.S. makes GM and the dealer more $$$. Why would they sell it if there wasn't going to be a profit? Read More...
Re: Torn between a 2006 Aveo and 2006 Toyota Scion XA [poncho167]
Buying a 2006 or 2007 Aveo doesn't support an American company at all. The AVEO is a GMDAT product produced in Korea and sold in over 140 countries around the world. GM is a world-wide automotive company with PACAT (GM China), Holden (GM Australia), Opel/Vauxhall (GM of Europe) all involved in the development of the new '07 Aveo. GM USA was not part of the redesign ... Read More...

Here is the comparo that Eldaino mentioned between the fit/xD. Myself I like the fit but its body and lack of horsepower kill the car for me. The car is in its 6th or 7th year of production so that makes it a outstanding car considering how long its been out. When the 2nd gen fit comes out it should be very nice if they update the body and bump up the pwoer up 20 or 25 horses. ... Read More...

I liked the 2006 Scion xA I took for a spin
and seriously considered buying one. I like the tC a lot but want 4 doors, hence my interest in the xA. I will watch these new Scion's and see how I like them and how new owners like them. I am now in the '08 Mitsubishi Lancer fold and digging mine to the full and don't intend on trading this pup in any time soon, so this interest in Scion is merely remote. Remote but not remote ... Re: persistent rain leak [tinkuy]
I'm experiencing the same problem with my 2006 xA except the leak is on the passenger side. I've had it at the dealership 3 times and they replaced the door seals but it's still leaking in the same area. I also called Scion directly but they haven't heard of this problem before. It's currently at the dealership to be fixed yet again. One technician suggested that ... Read More...
persistent rain leak
My 2006 Scion xA leaks every time it rains. Does anyone else have the following problem or a solution to it? Toyota/Scion of Berkeley, CA and the factory field technician certainly don't! This is the 7th time I've taken it in since March 2006, 6 weeks after purchasing the car. PROBLEM: Water enters the driver's side door and dribbles onto the floor when it rains. ... Read More...
Re: k [jbrahms]
I have an 2006 xA automatic yes, but i was referring to the 5 speed xa. id have given up some speed in the xa just to cruise at a resonable rpm at 70 mph. my 126 hp corolla is plenty fast( for my needs) with a manual transmission, and is decent with highway cruising. the honda fit manual has this problem as well at about 3400 rpm at 70 mph. im just begging scion not to have such ... Re: persistent rain leak [tinkuy]
Have you ever seen www.tundrasolutions.com? I went to www.ask.com and typed in "Scion Xa repair problems" and found references on www.tundrasolutions.com to TSB's for the leaking problem (evaporative drain hose?) and the "pulling to the side" problem. In fact, my dealer gives alignment checks and free alignments -- so someone realizes some of these things ... Read More...
