I LOVE My xA
Vehicle
2006 Scion xA 4dr Hatchback (1.5L 4cyl 4A)
Review
I admit, when I was looking around I didn't think I would like this car this much, but it is fabulous. Maybe it was just my 19 year old Honda Civic, but this car is great. And don't listen to complaints about the ride, it is just fine. Its road feel is great. My only complaint is that the factory tires are kind of lousy, but other than that, I am in love.
Favorite Features
This is one of the most comfortable cars I have owned and it was a real trooper on an impromptu road trip. It is fun, quick enough for the city, and gets great gas mileage. The stereo system is also WICKED!
Suggested Improvements
The factory tires stink.

First Scion
Vehicle
2006 Scion xA 4dr Hatchback (1.5L 4cyl 5M)
Review
As my first new car in 15 years, the Scion xA is impressive in many ways for a compact. Its handling is very nice, its ride is comfortable, and its controls are easy to use. One feature that takes getting used to is the pod of gauges. It is distracting at first, and takes your eyes off the road. The stereo is exceptional for a compact, and it is ready for the MP3s. Its noise level is good below 60 mph; above that slightly annoying. The styling attracts attention, in a positive way; it is reminiscent of the Mini Cooper. Its pricing is also a strong selling point. There is no haggling, very little in add on charges, and options can be added later. Cruise control, e.g., is $350 if added later; $425 if financed.
Favorite Features
The handling is immediately noticeable. It is agile, very responsive, and handles moderate road roughness well. Other quirky little features, like the illuminated storage under the radio, add to its appeal. The standard features are, well, above standard.
Suggested Improvements
More power is the greatest need and the noise level above 55 takes getting used to. It isn't so bad to be annoying, there is just too much engine noise at high speed. The mirror control is difficult to get used to, and could be in a more accessible location. An armrest as a standard feature would be nice.

Great if You're Under 5'6"
Vehicle
2006 Scion xA 4dr Hatchback (1.5L 4cyl 5M)
Review
I drove my wife's car - 2,000 miles in seven days. I'm 6'1"at 200 lbs. The car sipped gas, saving $180 in fuel over my car. It is very nimble at cruising speeds. I expected a buzzy engine, wind noise and stiff suspension from a small car and I wasn't disappointed. Luckily, the stereo worked perfectly and for the price it performed great, climbing hills at 75 in 4th. The AC handled 100+ temps with no problems.
Favorite Features
I like the radio controls on the steering wheel, good A/C, good handling and excellent gas mileage.
Suggested Improvements
This car should have better ergonomics for us taller people. The seat needs a height adjustment - the rear view mirror blocked about 20% as I couldn't lower the seat. Also, it should have softer seats and a telescoping steering column. Moving the seat back, I had to stretch to reach the wheel, otherwise my legs would cramp. Its designed for people who are 5'6" and shorter.

Has to be a Best Buy in Small Cars
Vehicle
2006 Scion xA 4dr Hatchback (1.5L 4cyl 4A)
Review
My wife and I just purchased a new '06 Scion xA in Silver. This is a great little car for the money. The car comes with many more standard features than its competitors including ABS, Automatic, a great stereo, lots of leg room, etc.. This car also gets great gas mileage...38MPG! Here's the only problem with Scion. Their website makes it seem like you can build it online, and just pop into a local dealer and within about a week, you get your car the way you want it. Well it doesn't work like that. These cars are so hard to find, that you basically have to take whatever is on the lot. Also, why doesn't the xA comes with a remote door unlock thing?
Favorite Features
The upgraded iPod compatible stereo, great body shape, great fuel economy, Toyota quality, no haggle pricing, and fun options. This car is truly fun to drive and not everyone has one.
Suggested Improvements
Make more of them so there are more to choose from! Also, offer side airbags, and make a remote door opener standard. Also, no haggle pricing is fine for some, but it doesn't mean you're going to get the best deal.

Scion xA
Vehicle
2006 Scion xA 4dr Hatchback (1.5L 4cyl 4A)
Review
I was looking for a small car that got great gas milage but not at the cost of a hybrid. I bought the Scion xA based on Edmunds.com's review. I'm so happy I did. The car has actually outperformed my original expectations. It seats 5 people quite comfortably and the ride is surprisingly smooth for such a small car. The car is about 8 months now and I have had zero problems with it so far. I love it.
Favorite Features
All the little extras built in as standard features that cost extra on other vehicles including Toyota brand vehicles.
Suggested Improvements
Give it larger sun visors.

Loved One, Bought Another
Vehicle
2006 Scion xA 4dr Hatchback (1.5L 4cyl 4A)
Review
I purchased an Xb for my daughter a year ago and love everything about it. Reliable, comfortable, cool. So when I needed a new car for myself, I picked up an Xa. It is more fun to drive than the Xb, but equally great on quality. Now my other daughter thinks we need a tC to complete the line in our driveway. I am not sure why the lack of cruise control is always mentioned, because I had no trouble ordering the car with cruise.
Favorite Features
The driving position is great, it provides a full view of the road. This car gets great gas milege. I love the iPod integration.

Review
I bought this car to save on gas. I have yet to hit the EPA estimates. In highway driving, at the speed limit of 75 mph I cranked out a whopping 26 mpg. I guess since the car was taching at 4,000 rpms in 5th gear. I should be happy it didn't blow up. Its A/C is inadequate. It has to be run on high fan and recirculate to keep the car cool. It has an uncomfortable ride. You feel every bump in the road. Alsi, it's very underpowered. Check the resale values, others must not be impressed either.
Favorite Features
The great radio with an iPod connection and how it is very easy to park.
Suggested Improvements
Add a 6th gear, more power, and give it more realistic EPA gas mileage estimates.

Inexpensive, Economical, and a Blast to Drive
Vehicle
2006 Scion xA 4dr Hatchback (1.5L 4cyl 5M)
Review
Just hit 1,000 miles and one month on my Flint Mica XA and I am delighted with it. I love the exterior style and the stereo. This car came well equipped for a great price. I feel younger than my 50 years when driving it, my teenage daughters' friends call it "cool", I keep playing Springsteen's "Born to Run" - really loud. I pulled into a parking lot once and a woman had followed me to ask me about all about it. I love the peppy ride, the nimbleness, and the overall look and feel of the car. About 75% of my driving is in the 35 to 40 mph range - conservative driving, so far it looks like I'm north of 35 to 36 miles per gallon. Economics aside, my xA is a blast to scoot around town in.
Favorite Features
he exterior styling, seats, audio system, audio controls in the steering wheel, the aux jack, ease of laying down the back seats, the color, power windows, locks, mirrors, the high seating position, the visibility, and everything else, including the price.
Suggested Improvements
I would like a little more aggressive turn signal self cancel, which it would cancel once the wheels have straightend out, on some slight turns the turn signals keep flashing. I would also like to see a little more top end - how 'bout 2,000 - 2,500 rpms at 75 mph, no big deal in the city. Floor mats would be nice!
