Honda Civic Coupe vs. Scion tC
Re: 2006 Honda Civic Coupe vs. 2006 Scion tC [JBaumgart]
Anyone who is over 5' 10" tall will have a difficult time fitting into the Scion TC. I'm 5' 11", and I could not even sit in the car without my head hitting the roof. I ended up buying a 2005 Civic EX which has plenty of headroom even with the sunroof. My gut feeling is that the new Civic Coupe will far outsell the Scion TC mostly due to the Honda name. 2006 Honda Civic Coupe vs. 2006 Scion tC
What do people think about these two cars which will be going head-to-head, targeting the same demographics? I am not including in this discussion the new Si, which is more performance oriented, or the Civic sedan or hybrid, which are geared towards more "practical" and/or "green" buyers. Both the Coupe and tC will appeal to younger buyers (and their parents) ... Read More...
Scion tC Prices Paid and Buying Experience
Re: Scion Price [riddlermyth]
I just picked up my 2006 tC Auto from Tysons Toyota (VA). It took 3 weeks for my order to arrive. Worth the wait with one mile on Odometer. With no other tC for sale on the lot, a few customers surrounded my car. My rep had to shoo them away :P If it was up to me I would keep the supply low ;) I paid the scion.com price 17,515 + 289 (posted processing/doc fee) + tax (3% in VA) + ... Read More...
Great scion tc buying experience -- twice
I bought a 2005 tc (flint mica/auto trans) from McGeorge Scion in Richmond, VA in January. Pricing was exactly what the website promised, the salesman was super-informed, and delivery came in a couple weeks ahead of when promised because another car came free. I couldn't have been happier and the next six months only confirmed me in my initial impression that ... Read More...

enjoy your 2006 Scion tC in Azure Pearl...automatic or manual transmission? They are super nice looking cars and it should hold up fine mechanically and hold it's value as well. Read up on the few complaints on the car if you haven't yet. They seem petty yet really bug some tC owners, you be the judge of your own tC ownership experience, obviously, and do chime back ... New tc owner
Just received my new tc yesterday!!! 2006 superwhite with side airbags. I have been visiting this forum since March and all your comments have been very helpful (stickguy, tonylexus, etc). My tc was supposed to get here in 20 - 25 days but one became available in 10 days. Once I was told they had a tc for me, making the final decision to buy was a bit scary, especially ... Read More...
Toyota/Scion corporate
I WAS a Hyundai guy all the way... All of my family drives them or Hondas (and they are more reliable than Hondas, just to let you know). I used to get everyone looking for cars to get one. Then I discovered Hyundai/Kias corporate policies that are unfair to workers, as are Hondas. For example, Hyundai and Honda do not extend domestic partner benefits to gay workers' ... Read More...
Scion tC Prices Paid and Buying Experience
Re: Dealer from Hell [mike84]
I'm having the same experience; it's been 2 weeks of me trying to find a dealer I can stomach doing business with. They lie about the inventory in stock, and I've been lied to about the colors' availability (at the Burlingame, California Scion dealer I was told black cherry is discontinued for 2006. I explained that I'd seen the website, and he flat-out told me I ... Read More...
Dealer from Hell
My wife and I went into Riverside Scion in Tulsa, OK to by a TC. After the experience we had we bought a Civic EX sport instead, our first non-Toyota in 20 years and I've come to the conclusion that Toyota customer Service is dead. Here's a copy of the Email I sent to Riverside and to Scion.com. Their reaction was basically thanks we'll look into it, nothing from either ... Read More...
